About the Course

A one-day workshop making small sculptures from wood and natural materials found in the local area. Environmental artist, Leon Patchett, will demonstrate and guide participants through some basic techniques to assemble their own piece of art. Explore shape, line, pattern and texture in a relaxed and productive atmosphere.

Suitable for all ages and abilities. Leon's last course saw an 8 year old and a 78 year old happily working side by side!

Leon Patchett is a graduate of Central / St Martins College, London. He has been a practicing artist for the past decade and now works out of the Stables Studios in Cromarty. This beautiful and dramatic region of Scotland has inspired a new direction in his work. A simple walk on the beach presented a readily available free material to begin making sculpture from driftwood. The process has seen him exhibit widely and take part in a list international residencies including North Carolina USA, Macedonia, Spain & Finland.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
