Description
I am City & Guilds trained and qualified in soft furnishing making and hold Level 3 Award in Adult Education & Training. I will teach you how to make soft furnishings to a professional standard. This workshop is suitable for students of all abilities, however, you would need to know the very basics of using a sewing machine or, attend my one-to-one beginner class – “Getting to know your sewing machine”, this can be done on the same day, prior to the cushion course. This is a very constructive workshop teaching valuable techniques which are often used when making other soft furnishing projects. You will learn how to make, join, and attach piping, plus, insert a lapped zip into the rear of the cushion. You will learn how to: Cut out your cushion panels and adjust measurements to achieve plump cushions; achieve correct pattern placement and available tools to assist; construct and attach continuous piping; insert a lapped zip into the rear of the cushion. You will make a piped cushion that you will take home, along with the cushion insert. I love to share my knowledge and encourage you to ask any questions throughout the class, or, if you are struggling with anything after when you come to make your own cushions, you only need to contact me and I will do my best to assist. This workshop commences at 10am and will finish at apx 1.30pm.
