Jacqueline is amazing! Such a talented woman! Jacqueline teaches with such patience and kindness. I had a one to one class with Jacqueline and it was definitely worth it. I really wanted to learn this technique and initially thought I could learn it myself through youtube videos but you definitely cannot. There is so much more to it, it takes time and all the techniques to make a perfect and professional lampshade you will only learn from an expert like Jacqueline. I would definitely recommend this course with Jacqueline to anyone wanting to learn as it is an amazing skill to have.
Thank you Catherine for your lovely review. You were a pleasure to teach and your textile ideas ... all things natural with traditional techniques ... so exciting. I look forward to seeing your own collections at a trade shows in the years to come.
I had wanted to learn the techniques for traditional lampshade-making for a long time, so to find this workshop was a real treat! We had a lovely two days; although we were working hard on our lampshades, the atmosphere was relaxed and Jacqueline's teaching is clear and patient. The surroundings of High Force Hotel are beautiful and comfortable, and we were very well looked after by everyone. We came away feeling very pleased with our creations and the knowledge we gained has equipped us with the confidence to try different shade styles and designs on our own. I would thoroughly recommend. Thank you Jacqueline.
Thank you Tanya for your lovely review. Your lampshade was beautiful and I look forward to seeing your designs as your creativity blooms ...
Wonderful weekend learnt so much and came away with a fabulous lampshade which exceeded my expectations. Jaqueline is lovely and puts you completely at ease, she is very patient and willing to share all her knowledge. I would not hesitate in recommending this course to someone who wanted to learn something a little bit different and meet like minded people .
Thank you Jaqueline I’ve come away with a new skill for a new venture and friend!
Also great venue food delicious!
Thanks for the lovely review Sue. Your lampshade is gorgeous. I wish you lots of success in your new venture and totally agree with you. The High Force Hotel is a great venue and the food is excellent.
I really enjoyed this course and I am thrilled with my lamp! I learned how to make a lamp with pleats at the top and gathers at the bottom. It has given my bedroom a lovely pop of colour and looks so unique. Jacqueline is a great teacher, and she brings out the creative side in everyone! She is patient, personable, and fun to work with. I shall definitely sign up for more classes as I want to add some cushions to match. Don't worry if you are a beginner (like I was) this course is for everyone!
Thanks so much Hannah for you lovely review. It was a pleasure to teach you and I am so glad you'll be joining us again for a Scatter Cushions workshop. You'll leave the Scatter Cushion workshop with at least 2 different cushion styles to compliment your lampshade and I have in stock several trims that would work really well with your fabric scraps.
This course was fantastic! It was the first course of this type I had ever gone to so was a bit nervous– I was so surprised I completed day 2 with a beautiful shade gathered at the top and bottom. I loved it so much I decided to go back again to learn how to do box pleats at the top and gathered at the bottom. Jacqueline was so encouraging, allowing us to go at our own speeds ensuring that we were confident at each stage. I am now slowly going around our house getting creative adding splashes of colour with unique lampshades to different rooms.
So glad you enjoyed this course Karina, you are a pleasure to teach. We are running a scatter cushion course soon. I will let me know dates once they have been confirmed.
Just completed this course with Jacqueline in York and absolutely loved it! I will admit to feeling a little bit nervous before hand and not sure I would be able to do it! However Jacqueline put us completely at ease and talked us through the steps clearly and precisely so that I ended up with a beautiful handmade shade that I can’t wait to show off! The 2 days were broken down into easy stages and we all worked together having a giggle as we went along! I never thought I’d actually finish in time but I was wrong! Now can’t wait to do the tailored course - buzzing with ideas! Highly recommend.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the workshop Hazel and thanks for you lovely review. We have more residential workshops planned for this Autumn in the North of England. Do check our website, it would be a pleasure to work with you again.
