ABOUT THE COURSE This is a one to one course running over five weeks, providing two hours a week of tuition on a flexible basis. The course is aimed at those keen to discover more about the practical aspect of interior design. Whether you are about to embark on a project of your own, are keen to learn more about your individual style, or are just looking to gain more confidence, this course will give you the knowledge and tools to confidently create stylish interiors. The course works best if you have a room at home that you would like to redesign. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN Discovering your decor style and preferred colour palette How light affects colour How to use colour How to consider architectural features How to mix decor styles How to survey a room Understanding scale How to draw to scale The rudiments of lighting a room Planning your room Understanding lighting and finalising your fittings Planning and designing any feature areas Finalising finishes, furniture and plans When you’ve finished the course, you’ll have a clear vision of your scheme on your final MOODBOARD This will give you the confidence to order and shop knowing that your interior will look fantastic, meet your budget and suit your unique style perfectly! What you will need: Desktop/laptop computer or tablet – with internet access. Camera – a must for snapping photos of things that inspire you and for logging items you'll be keeping in your scheme. A mobile phone camera is fine. Tape measure – for measuring your room, if you need to (optional). Printer – with a built-in scanner, if possible, but it's not essential. It's useful for scanning magazine pics, fabric that you may not want to cut and other materials that you'll want to add to your mood boards.

Magazine & website resource document: A list of some of the best reading material to keep you up-to-date with the latest trends and sources. With this resource document, you’ll never struggle to source anything interiors again! All materials are included together with refreshments during the tuition time.
