About the Course
Introduction to Wood Carving for Kids (The wood carving course is suitable for kids 8yrs+)
Learn to safely use a knife, drawknife and shavehorse to create traditional wooden crafts.
We will create either a bullroarer or spatula with a drawknife on the shavehorse and learn safe knife whittling techniques and make a letter opener or tent peg. We will also create a gypsy rose on the shavehorse, this can also be used as a very effective kindling. Students will learn a wide variety of carving techniques using different tools safely and create wooden crafts and their own handmade mallet to take home with them.
This course is taught in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere by Nadine Grundy who has over 15 years experience teaching art, crafts and woodwork.
All tools and materials will be provided.

What's included in the price?
All materials and tools are provided for you on the day. Drinks are provided but bring a packed lunch and suitable clothing for working undercover outside.
