Woodland Landscapes in Fabric

Description

In this interesting workshop Kate will demonstrate how to cut fabric “confetti” and use it to create a landscape with trees. You will complete a landscape piece during the day and start to machine stitch it. You will learn the best way to bond the fabrics plus the secret to sewing over the top successfully. You will need a sewing machine with a free motion foot attachment and to have some familiarity with using it. What to bring: A packed lunch Sewing machine with embroidery foot, sewing kit - scissors, pins needles and a variety of threads for machine stitching your work Sharp rotary cutter and cutting mat. Thick quilters ruler. (Be aware that if you have weak wrists you may find this method of cutting difficult) A selection of fabrics that would suit a landscape. Choose small patterns, batiks or hand-dyed effects ideally Small plastic containers for holding cut confetti pieces (eg takeaway containers with lids or similar) Included on the day: Backing felt, fusible webs and tulle and some general fabrics Expert tuition 1 to 1 guidance Detailed demonstrations

If having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
