In your workshop you will learn the techniques to manipulate the wire to complete a wading bird using galvanized chicken wire. Once completed, your work will last a lifetime inside or out and never rust.  Alternatively you can choose to make a wonderful wire work hare out of silver or copper wire.

This workshop is suitable for beginners, but can be as ornate or as simple as you wish depending on your crafting abilities. You will learn techniques to make coils using a Gizmo tool and how to attach the gems & Swarovski crystals to wire branches by making 'headpins'.
The student will develop an understanding of how to wire wrap stones and gems to create pendants that can be worn on chains or other materials such as leather thongs, the student will use a range of hand tools and specialist jewellery tools. The student will understand how to make bails and incorporate twisted wire designs to embellish and strengthen the piece. The course runs for 4 hours from 12.30pm until 4.30pm at Pontypool Museum....
