My love of woodcraft was due to a meeting with a guitarist friend who had made an acoustic guitar. We talked about his guitar for many hours and I thought it would be a challenge for me to have a go! Well that was 6 years ago and now in 2023 I am in a small workshop in Stoke where I build various instruments. The Strumstick instrument build is a great way to get to grips with fine woodworking and is an ideal step towards acoustic guitar building. No experience in woodwork is needed.

"I had a really enjoyable day. All the equipment and materials were supplied. Ted is a good tutor, relaxed and confident. I was pleased with the resulting box. I want to add a band saw and belt sander to my workshop, so it was great to get some hands on experience of using the kit. Highly recommended Many thanks Ted"

"A fantastic day and I learnt far more than I thought I would. Ted was an excellent and very patient tutor. It definitely made me want to learn more. The best bits were that I got to use a range of traditional and modern tools when making my window frame. I'd highly recommend the course to anyone who's got an interest in learning how to make proper joints in wood. "

"David made a beautiful frame with tight fitted joins and his angle on the sill was very nicely planed with a number 4 hand plane. The angle is approx 5 degrees to help with rain run off and we had a small drip groove under the sill too. Well done David and hopefully see you very soon. 😎👍👍👍👍Ted "
