The Clock making day is around 5.00 hours and includes all materials for you to complete the project. On this course you will learn about accurate marking out and will use the bandsaw and sander to make most of the parts from our templates. The clock itself runs from a small battery. The decoration woods seen in the photos can vary due to my stock levels but usually we have something about the workshop that is similar. We finish the wood with shellac or Danish oil and you can then take home your beautiful mantle clock at the end of the day.

My love of woodcraft was due to a meeting with a guitarist friend who had made an acoustic guitar. We talked about his guitar for many hours and I thought it would be a challenge for me to have a go! Well that was 6 years ago and now in 2021 I am in a small workshop in Stoke where I build various instruments. The Strumstick instrument build is a great way to get to grips with fine woodworking and is an ideal step towards acoustic guitar building. No experience in woodwork is needed.
