Ricky Robson reviewed: Taster pottery throwing lesson (various dates)

"Booked a taster class for myself and fiancée as a Christmas present as we had been talking about doing something like this for many years. Jack has a great approach to teaching and creates an awesome learning environment, we enjoyed every moment and we’re excited to see our pieces forming shape in no time at all. Each pot after the first got better as you get more comfortable with your new found skills. We are coming back for more, that’s for sure! Highly recommend giving this a pop."

Dr Tim reviewed: Woodcarving for beginners - two day course in Suffolk

"I have been professionally involved in arts and crafts education all my working life and have sampled and taken part in numerous short courses. I must say that this two-day course in woodcarving was outstanding. Gerry is a time-served craftsman with a pedigree which can be traced back to the pinnacle of European woodcarving. However, one rarely finds craftsmen with such high technical standards capable of imparting their knowledge to students in a sympathetic and meaningful way. Gerry is an exception; with a patient, good-humoured teaching style, he has the gift of imparting to the learner a belief in their potential and this leads to that all-important self-confidence, which lies at the heart of quality craft education."

Sue Springfield reviewed: Wet felting with Virginia

"Oh my word! I went along as a complete novice (with some trepidation!) and thanks to Virginia’s expertise, knowledge and guidance I came away with something that I can now confidently present to a very dear friend as a 70th birthday gift! Virginia offers clear demonstrations and provides everything that is needed (including hospitality!) on top of her expert tuition... if you are looking for something to whet any latent appetite for creativity, then this is a must! Thank you Virginia; I’m afraid I shall be back for more! ??"

Jan McColl reviewed: Quilting: Quilt-in-a-Day

"I have long wanted to learn to quilt whilst also viewing it as a mystery skill which I’d never manage. Jacqueline was amazing today. She taught each bit in sections and I came away having a very good understanding of the basics. I need lots of practice but I have definitely got the bug and can’t wait to do more. Jacqueline remained calm and patient. Nothing phased her. Highly recommended."

"Myself and a friend went on this course this week and we had such a good time. Liz is so friendly and helpful - we were both thrilled with what we managed to achieve - and the conversation and lunch were good too. I recommend this course as Liz explained everything and even as beginners it was a fun day, if you have never tried printing before, try this one. Excellent overall"

Lorien Jasny reviewed: Learn to Turn in the Dartmoor National Park

"Chris is a great instructor. I'd taken a wood turning course years ago, but learned far more in this session because he explained not only how to do things, but why you do it that way. It was incredibly enjoyable and he walked us through all of the steps for creating a bowl and answered all of our questions about next steps. It was a really great class."

Sarah reviewed: Sterling silver ring making workshop

"An excellent morning and wonderful to leave with a piece of jewellery I can wear. I have attended David's stained glass course in the past, and as before David was an excellent teacher. He takes you through each stage of the process and is incredibly patient. All the tools and equipment you could possibly need were to hand. A lovely small group and each person made their own individual design. Looking forward to the next course!"

David J Lilly responded:

"Hi Sarah, Thanks again for a great review and again well done for making such a fabulous ring."

Frances Zammit reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners - morning

"Such a lovely evening. And learned so much and came home with a spoon! Stephen’s calm expertise gave us time to experience working with many different tools - two types of axe, two types of saw and a fair number of different knives and other carving tools. In just two and a half hours a branch of a greenwood willow tree transformed into seven spoons! All first attempts and all unique. Some might say they were a bit of a rough ‘chip of the old block’ but I love mine! The added bonus was that, after spending such a pleasant, productive and concentrated evening working on a creative task with others, I was so chilled that I felt as if I had just spent two weeks relaxing on a beautiful beach. Highly recommended."
