David Greenhill reviewed: Two day (consecutive) stained glass starter course at North Norfolk Stained Glass

"I attended this brilliant course in December, the tuition was fantastic. Paul took me through every stage of the glass panel making and with his guidance was able to complete a leaded panel over the two days from start to finish. This has given me the confidence as a complete novice to be able to attempt some of my own work. I highly recommend this course."

Richard Pickard reviewed: Copper Foil Technique Stained Glass

"An absolutely amazing experience! Amanda is brilliant, kind, patient and attentive to the needs of her learners. As a teacher myself I understand the pressures, especially when working 1:1 with a new subject. Even after the course ended, Amanda continued to offer support with questions I had about buying equipment and she saved me from hours of searching online. I will be booking another course with Amanda in the future, without doubt."

Dragonfly Glass Art responded:

"Hi Richard, Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review- much appreciated!!!! I look forward to seeing you in the future, and what you have been making!!!! If you get stuck, just get in touch!! Amanda"

Adrian Cromar reviewed: Make your own shavehorse with Gedwood

"Had the pleasure of doing this course back at the end of October, having done the whisky tumbler course earlier in the year I wanted to go back and try something I could really sink my teeth into. Once again, I had the pleasure of Ged's company and his relaxed, insightful tutelage. And I ended up with a shavehorse that I'm proud of! Thanks again Ged, hope to see you again in 2022 :)"

Gedwood responded:

"Ah thanks Adrian . Hope to see you back this year!"

Patty reviewed: 4 week mixed media mosaic course - 'Peace by Piece'

"This was an unexpected gift for my birthday ... and I LOVED it. Emma (our course tutor) was so welcoming, easy, warm and encouraging of whatever stage all the students were at. (me an absolute novice? ) She created a learning environment that was supportive and friendly ... and we not only all learned of the methodology and 'tricks of the trade' from Emma's life-long experience and love of the craft but also from one another. All materials and tools were supplied for our use - and for us to familiarise ourselves with which materials/medium/approach appealed to us. We were encouraged to 'go with the flow' and in whichever direction our instincts took us ... changing direction/materials along the way when something didn't quite feel right. A journey of discovery and learning, experimenting and progression. A time-out for ourselves to try something that we had maybe wanted to try but had never quite got around to. As I mentioned earlier ... I LOVED it ... and whole-heartedly recommend anyone who may have had inclinations to try it ... DO IT."

Jan Aksnes reviewed: 'Art your way' with Jill Jones FRSA, 3 hours

"Jill’s course was recommended by a friend and although Pembrokeshire is a long way from where I live I was happy to go .. me for the first time ( but hopefully not last) and my friend on a return visit. Jill shared her knowledge of acrylic painting with such enthusiasm and encouragement that I surprised myself ( and family and friends) with the paintings I produced at the end of the course. Jill’s warmth and friendship ( not forgetting the great lunches of course! ) all made the 4 day course so enjoyable . I would highly recommend this course."

Jill Jones Fine Art responded:

"Hi Jan, You were amazing - that painting you did of the bay with the white/cream cottage to the right and the gold and lilac sky was just superb! You did so well in the week you were here - it would be great to see you again. Keep up the great work! Jill"

Janette Stewart reviewed: Seascapes, 2 day free motion machine embroidery workshop

"I did this workshop last year (2020) really enjoyed it. All materials were supplied - real fun rummaging around looking for bits and pieces to make up the picture. Alison kept the day moving at a good pace, giving a lot of information in bite size chunks so I didn't feel overwhelmed. I even managed to finish my piece which was a first. Thank you Alison for an enjoyable 2 days!"

Libby Hughes reviewed: Bring Your Own Upholstery Project - 1 day workshop - Week Days

"I would highly recommend this course to anyone that wants to have a go at upholstery, whether it be for a home project or to see if it is a hobby or career you may want to pursue. Sarah has a wealth of knowledge in upholstery and interiors, and as she limits the size of the groups to 6 people, it means she also dedicates a lot of time to each individual in the group. There is no pressure to keep up with others, and although there is a lot of information to take in during the day, I found the course very relaxing and enjoyable, and will certainly be booking on to another course in the future."

Jane Hawes reviewed: Silver Jewellery making class at Sandra Kerns Jewellery studio, Little Sampford

"I had the best day with Sandra. She is a lovely lady. I didn't have a clue what was involved in making jewellery and had never made anything in silver before. At the end of the day I came home with a lovely pendant which I had designed and made myself and I've already had a lot of positive comments on it. Sandra is very knowledgeable and explains everything very well. I would really recommend Sandra's courses and I really hope I will be able to go back."

Ian reviewed: Lathe turning for beginners with Thompsons Wood

"I got the course as a Xmas present and I can genuinely say that it didn't disappoint!! Jake is a really good instructor, proved by the fact that as a complete novice, I managed 2 bowls and a pen, admittedly, 1 bowl shattered in half, but we caught up again with a second one. Lunch was great too!! Jake has definitely got me hooked and I can't wait to get myself a lathe and get started. I would totally recommend this course for anyone thinking of getting into woodturning or wanting tips and advice to improve their skills."

Edna reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"Today was all about stone setting. Following on from a previous session I had prepared a Mount which just needed tidying up. Once again Lucy was able to give advice on how to do it without scratching the silver. When it came to the stone I realised why Lucy is a master crafts woman. No matter how we tried the stone wouldn’t stay in its mount. With a lot of perseverance and some methods only known to Lucy it has finally stayed put. I can’t wait for the next session to put all that I have learned together."

Carole H reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"This time a new leap forward with my loop-in-loop project! After some continuation of the jump ring production line, it was time to try the weaving process. First a set of rings are stretched into a paper clip shape. It takes three of these overlapped to form a ‘star’ before they are bent into a combined intricate shape – no easy task! Thankfully, Lucy was there to show me how to do it. Another enjoyable and satisfying day. Thank you Lucy."

Shane Hallett reviewed: Bladesmithing Weekend

"Wow what can I say I have always wanted to make my own knife and I have finally achieved it. The excellent tutorage, humour and warm welcome all made the experience one I will always remember. We were taken step by step through the process which enabled us to watch the professional then start on our own knife slowly watching the knife come alive out of the metal billet we were give. You were able to go along at your own pace with someone always ready to step in and help if you needed it and even make slight changes to the design to suit you, I went for a nicely balanced knife with beautiful blue swirly handles and I. must say I am very happy with the final result. The best thing is that I can now sign up for the virtual open days and go along and start another project at my own pace using their facilities and knowledge by paying a reasonable day fee. I will definitely be back to do another soon."

Clarke Knives responded:

"Glad you enjoyed your time with us so much. We look forward to seeing you again."

Trudy Coughlan reviewed: Full day leather craft workshop

"Attended the full day leather craft workshop, together with my daughter. I wanted to use an old handbag to make other items (I made a phone bag and a tray) and my daughter made several small items. I had done the handbag making course a few years ago and really enjoyed it so this was an add-on and refresher from that. My daughter also enjoyed her day, learning new skills and using a sewing machine. Rosanna is very knowledgeable and helpful and we both came away wanting to do more!"

"I had never tried mosaic before and was keen to give it a go. This kit was the perfect introduction and I thoroughly enjoyed it! "I have done several of Wendy's courses and have enjoyed all of them. Having done the macrame wreath my friend and I have caught the macrame bug so booked to learn how to do the feathers. Daniel reviewed: 'Art your way' with Jill Jones FRSA, 3 hours

"Before holidaying in Pembrokeshire (again!) I spoke to a friend who lives there and, knowing that I am an 'aspiring' artist (of no great note!) she suggested I consider Jill's 'Art Your Way' painting class. So, I booked a full day and can honestly say it was one of my better decisions. I would thoroughly recommend the course which will now be a regular event for me whenever I venture to West Wales!"

Jill Jones Fine Art responded:

"Hello Daniel, We shall certainly look forward to welcoming you back for another painting class, on your next holiday to Pembrokeshire! Jill"
