Michael Yard reviewed: Woodturning tuition in Wiltshire

"I had a very enjoyable day trying out woodturning for the very first time. Andy is a real expert at his craft, and he was very good at explaining the different tools and processes that are involved in both sharpening tools and using them on the lathe. There is a real satisfaction in taking a piece of wood and shaping it into a practical object. The bowl that Andy helped me make looks really lovely and will last forever. I spent a day with Andy and I am keen to return again to learn more and get more practice. It was so good to be able to have an expert demonstrate a particular technique and then for me to be able to have a go straight afterwards. I have always admired wooden objects and now that I have had a brief introduction to woodturning, I will appreciate them even more knowing just how skilled the people are that make them. Thanks Andy for your help and guidance and for making it a fun day out, thanks also to Mary and Angus the dog. Best Regards, Michael."

Bernie Heland reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"Today I completed my second course with Chris. I cannot recommend him highly enough. My first course was the glass blowing course, I wanted to make some Christmas presents for friends and family, and learn a fantastic craft. I can honestly say with Chris's very patient style, I achieved some truly lovely pieces and was delighted to be able to gift some truly personal presents. My second course with Chris was a masterclass in how to make some truly unique pieces of glass jewellery, I LOVED THEM ALL!! So much so I am going to find it hard to part with any of them!! If you want to do something that will give you a sense of enjoyment and a craftsmanship experience, you can do no better than take a class with Chris! I shall definitely be doing more classes at Chew valley Glass after Christmas."

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you so much Bernie for your kind review, Chris will be delighted you enjoyed your time with him as much as you have. We are so glad you've made some amazing pieces to be proud of. Kind regards Chris and the team at chew valley handmade glass "

andy molony reviewed: Stained glass taster day in Worcestershire

"Thank you for sharing your knowledge so freely. I asked a lot of technical questions and was provided with very clear and understandable responses. The course I opted for was the stained glass window making. I learnt plenty in such a short amount of time. I initially thought that Vicky was a former school teacher; her delivery of instruction and ability to provide a relaxed learning environment was brilliant. I think I will be visiting again to collect some more knowledge in the future. I would fully recommend Vicky to anyone who wants to learn working with glass skills. I enjoyed my day off work to escape to a creative environment."

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"My pleasure, it's always good to see the course being done in order to develop the techniques learnt in other work."

Carol reviewed: Introduction to crocheting

"Unfortunately I felt, along with others, that the group was too large to be able to achieve what was expected of us. The Tutor did not have the time to spend one to one time with us all. I came away quite disappointed. Brilliant venue and surroundings. Thank you."

Stanwick Lakes Art and Craft Courses responded:

"Dear Carol, Firstly - thank you for your feedback on the venue, that is great to hear. I'm sorry to hear your thoughts on the group size though, it's absolutely not what we would want. We have now reduced the class size and I would like to invite you back to the next (smaller) class, free of charge. Please contact us directly if you would like to attend. Kind regards, Billie"
