Allison Pringle reviewed: Silver Stud Earring Duo Workshop with Lindsay Forbes of Laconic - Durham

"I thoroughly enjoyed this course. I’ve never done anything like this before but the tutor made it easy to follow so great for beginners but as the tutor has a lot of years experience and study in this area, more advanced students can still progress. I would definitely like to do more. "

Nikki Gover reviewed: Book Paper Flowers (scheduled workshop at A Touch of Craft Yorkshire)

"I did the craft paper flowers course with a group of friends and it was brilliant fun - I'm not so good at "neat" crafts so I was expecting it to be a bit too precise for me but not at all, Laura was super clear and helpful and had loads of tricks to make it really easy and fun. We made 3 different flower types and had plenty of time to make more of the ones we liked best, and they all genuinely looked beautiful, even mine! We could bring our own paper if we had particular old maps or books we wanted to use too. I've since used my skills to make roses to give as gifts which were very well received."

L & S Crafts responded:

"Thank you for your review. I'm glad you continued to use your new skills after the course."

Kay Jamieson reviewed: A Creative Day Workshop (max 6 people for one price) - discovering or recovering creativity for work, home and life. Art in Suffolk

"This creative session with Jane took place online, during Covid. After so many months of feeling isolated it was wonderful to join together with others to be creative. Although we were all dotted around the world, Jane. had a wonderful way of bringing us all together to share, and making us feel 'safe' to express our own unique and distinct creativity in the session. I felt a little anxious beforehand as I hadn't been creative with art for many decades, but Jane talked us all through then steps and gave us a perfect balance of 'instruction' alongside freedom for self expression. The time passed so quickly, and I was surprised to see what emerged on the paper, which gave me joy! I realised afterwards that I hadn't thought about anything else for several hours, as I had been totally absorbed in playful expression, allowing my subconscious self to be my 'guide'. Highly enjoyable and also therapeutic, learning to trust the side of me that I can't always plan and control! Thanks, Jane. Kay "

Jane Beaumont Art responded:

"Thanks Kay., great to hear the session had such a positive benefit for you. It was super to see you relaxing into the activities and watch both you and your son producing such expressive and unique artwork. "

Hans & Stijn Marynissen reviewed: Guitar Strumstick Dulcimer 3 strings instrument

"What a brilliant day we had. This course was a birthday gift for my son and me. Neither of us had any fine woodworking experience. But Ted is a great teacher, very safety conscious and we felt at ease immediately. We learned so much about all aspects of fine woodworking and the course lets you glimpse into the fascinating world of the luthier. Such attention to detail, such craftsmanship. You’ll never look at a guitar in the same way. We were amazed on how our own efforts turned out. You start the day with a stick and you have a fine musical instrument at the end of it to take home and play. And what fun we had in the process, hands down the best workshop we’ve ever done. Ted is very knowledgeable about his craft and music but also has a great sense of humour and is full of stories. There was gratuitous banter as well as outright favouritism when it came to tool choice. I still have to file the complaint. Honestly, a fantastic day, thank you."

Teds Woodworking/ instrument making Courses responded:

"Thanks so much for your kind response. They worked very well on the strumstick dulcimers and the time flew by quickly. I'm looking forward to seeing them again soon. Hope they don't drive you mad with there version of Dueling Banjos. 😎👍👍"
