Richard Kenny reviewed: Intermediate 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"I enjoyed a great day with Simon and Louise last Thursday. I have done a little wood turning since buying my lathe earlier this year, but this showed how little I know about it and how much there is to learn. Simon's tuition is excellent, both in terms of content and technique. I was especially interested in tool sharpening, and this subject was covered very comprehensively, including both the theory and the practice. Many, many thanks, Simon and Louise."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Richard, Thank you so much for a heart-felt review and really glad we could help you improve your turning. Do get in touch if you have any questions or need any help. -- Simon & Louise"

Jan reviewed: Wire Christmas Wreath Workshop, including lunch - with Lindsay Forbes of Laconic, Darlington

"Lovely morning workshop. Very busy and rewarding having my wire wreath as a forever decoration. Lunch was lovely but had little time to eat it as we were so busy creating. The venue was pleasant but it was cold and didn’t really warm up. This didn’t detract from the enjoyment but we were chilly and needed a warm when we left. An extra coffee/tea would have been good on arrival to get us settled "

Bench Box responded:

"Thanks for your feedback Jan, much appreciated and some great points made too. You made a gorgeous wreath and I hope it hangs somewhere proudly! "

Janet Wilson reviewed: Take raw fleece to finished fibre 2-day spinning workshop

"I had a lovely weekend in Elaine’s studio in a small group of four. Elaine shared her extensive knowledge of fleece selection and preparation. We had lots of hands-on work with the fleeces and equipment. The course was relaxed and unhurried, with plenty of time at the spinning wheels. I loved every minute of it and left with a lovely skein of hand-spun yarn and the confidence to carry on spinning. The studio is in a wonderful location. We stayed nearby at the Derby Arms in Witherslack, which I can highly recommend."

Cartmel Handspun Spinning School responded:

"Thank you Janet. It was a pleasure to work with you and the others passing on the historic craft of hand spinning. I hope you enjoy spinning for many years to come and perhaps have the opportunity to share your skills with another generation. Best wishes. Elaine"
