Philip Jefferies reviewed: Woodturning Experience Days - Come and spend a day turning your first bowl

"I had a really wonderful day in the company of Stephen, and came away proudly with two fantastic bowls. Stephen greeted us with a warm welcome, and with a coffee and a chat I immediately felt at ease. A quick safety briefing and tour of the studio, before it was straight on with turning bowl number 1. It was informative, encouraging and when a few mistakes happened, patient tuition made the process so easy to follow. A lunch break gave us time to chat and recall stories of past history before it was on to bowl number 2. Stephen took more of a watching and guiding stance for this, always there if needed, but allowing me to try to remember exactly what I had put into practice before lunch. When my wife returned from her day out sightseeing in Well to puck me up, she was also made to feel very welcome with coffee and a friendly chat. Before we left Stephen gave me information on books to purchase to learn more and where to find the best tools to continue with the new found hobby. A day to remember and one I highly recommend to anybody looking to try woodturning."

Bodden Cross Studio responded:

"Thank you Philip. Keep the questions coming regarding equipment, tools etc. Happy to help. "

Louise Mackenney reviewed: Modern upholstered footstool workshop - Lewes - no experience required - the perfect gift!

"What a brilliant way to spend the day! Lucy was a fantastic and engaging teacher - so full of knowledge, with a witty anecdote for almost everything. I was so nervous that my footstool would be the one footstool in the history of footstools that didn’t work out very well, but it did, it’s beautiful and I’m so proud of it! The venue was quirky and the lunch was delicious. Thank you Lucy. "

Roundedby responded:

"Ha ha! Never for even a second was that going to happen ! I can never quite get over what incredible results are achieved by students in this workshop - and your beautiful blush & denim stool is no exception! You were so careful and considered and asked such great questions - thank you so much for trusting in the process and getting creative with your hands! Best - Lucy "

"Such a lovely day creating mosaic art with lovely people. An unbelievable wide variety of materials and colours to use and you are encouraged to create any artwork you want. Useful tips and guidance throughout from Lisa-Marie, and some much appreciated help cutting glass when I thought I’d taken on a task too big and wouldn’t finish in time. Would definitely attend again"

Kate Norris reviewed: Stained Glass Sun Catchers. (Foil Method) One day class. Beginners and intermediate welcome.

"What a beautiful day!! My mum has always wanted to try stained glass, literally for years! So when we decided to go away for a few days I had the idea to look for a days workshop for her. We planned our whole holiday around this day and it didn't disappoint! We took some alcohol-free fizz with us and a little packed lunch but everything else was provided by Clare. We honestly had so much fun and now my mum is looking into getting all the equipment to carry on making. A little spark has been ignited! So thank you for everything Clare! We cannot recommend highly enough. "

Woodland Crafts responded:

"I'm so pleased that you had a great time. You certainly both have an aptitude for this craft and did so well with the pieces that you made. Well done! Thank you for your kind review. Clare"

Beata reviewed: Interior Design Course - five weeks

"I just wanted to thank Aleksandra for her excellent online interior design course! You complete the course modules and homework assignments with Aleksandra's direction, and they all work together to help you identify your particular design aesthetic so that your final product is exactly what you want and love. Aleksandra is incredibly encouraging and brimming with ideas and industry experience to help you develop your ideal scheme. The weekly meetings with Aleksandra , who added design advice or suggested easy modifications that I hadn't considered, were comforting to me as she helped me polish the ideas I was developing. She also sent me resources to further investigate my ideas. Everything came together week by week to form my completed scheme. Aleksandra's advice helped me design my living room. Thank you so much and I'm looking forward to designing my kitchen next. "

Skela Studio responded:

"Oh Beata, I can't thank you enough for the lovely words! "

Mario Prost reviewed: Lathe turning for beginners with Thompsons Wood

"Absolutely brilliant woodturning beginners course. Jake is a skilled (and entertaining!) teacher. Everything is clearly explained but the course is very much centred on hands-on training, with Jake doing an excellent job at making you feel confident to take on increasingly complex tasks. The day went by in a flash. Highly recommended."

Jacqueline Perrett reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 pottery / ceramics workshop for 1 person

"I have never done pottery before. I bought the 1-2-1 wood turning for my husband, so thought I’d try the 1-2-1 pottery. I always find personal courses better so you can move at your own pace. Louise made me feel at ease, and had a great teaching style as she never touched my work. Just coached. I loved that. There were lots of choices for me and my creativity. I can’t believe I came out with so many useful things. The wheel was a real challenge but such fun. And we stayed at their crafters retreat which is like a little oasis. The whole day with my husband woodturning with Simon, staying at the lodge and the pottery, made it such a special anniversary. And my husband's bowl and honey drizzled were perfect. Everything was perfect."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Thank you for the fab review Jacqueline. It was a pleasure to have you in the ceramics studio ... you're very creative and you made some lovely pieces! Also pleased that Mark enjoyed his woodturning workshop with Simon. Again, some beautiful pieces made - bet you needed that hot tub in our Crafter's Retreat in the evening though! So glad you had a fabulous anniversary too! "

Chris reviewed: Two day (consecutive) stained glass starter course at North Norfolk Stained Glass

"I cannot recommend this course highly enough. Paul is a very skilled, knowledgable and thorough tutor. We learned how to create a stained glass panel from beginning to end in a pleasant, relaxed and friendly environment. Paul’s patient guidance resulted in very impressive results, and the practical skills we learned, together with the tips, techniques and information Paul taught us, have given us the confidence to perhaps try this at home. It really was an enjoyable couple of days spent in good company, and we are very pleased with our panels. Thank you Paul. "

North Norfolk Stained Glass responded:

"Thank you Chris, that is most kind, please don’t forget to get in touch if you’d like more information on anything. Best wishes Paul :•) "
