Sarah Devereux reviewed: The First Cut - lino cutting for beginners & rusty printmakers in Derbyshire

"A wonderful day spent hearing about the history of lino cutting and learning the technique, making my own designs and then printing onto paper. As a complete beginner I found the day quite magical, especially seeing the end result. Liz is supportive and gives great advice. I would highly recommend this course."

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Sarah, Good to hear from you and thank you for letting me know about your time here - it’s much appreciated. Lino cutting and printing are great processes to engage with and they’ve clearly captured your attention and your imagination, so you’d best make a list ready for the chap in the red suit! It was lovely spending the day with you both and a great way to celebrate. Best wishes Liz Wellby "

Tamsin Kilner reviewed: A One-day Feltmaking Course to Make a Fabulous Felt Hat in the Beautiful Forest of Dean.

"This was a truly excellent experience overall- my daughter was keen to make a top hat and Christine made one the day prior to the course so that she was well-prepared to support my daughter’s project, which turned out fantastically well. We each came away with hats we love, completely made in the one day, and I was so impressed by Christine’s skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm for her craft, as well as the lovely location of her workshop and the facilities she had. Amazing range of colours on offer and lots of examples for inspiration as well. Thoroughly recommend! "

Christine Waygood. Contemporary Textiles. responded:

"Thank you so much for your review. I really enjoyed our day, and having to get to grips with making a top hat! I've turned the sides up on mine, and it's worked really well! All the best , Chris"

Simon & Linda reviewed: An Introduction to bronze casting

"Linda and I really enjoyed our "Introduction to Bronze Age Casting" ... especially given Jonny's passion and experience for the subject. His knowledge doesn't stop at Bronze Casting though, we also covered a number of other subjects such as the playing of Aboriginal instruments, Flint Knapping, identifying fossils as well as "technology" in the Neanderthal, Bronze and Iron ages. Our Bronze Axe Heads currently have pride of place on our desks and we're hoping to return to participate in the other courses that Jonny offers."

Jonny Crafts Things responded:

"Glad you enjoyed the day and great chatting with you."

Nicola reviewed: Bargello Needlepoint Workshop

"I recently went on a 3-hour workshop to learn "Bargello", an ancient type of weaving originating from Florence. The instructor, Nerrisa, was brilliant in explaining everything to get us started and she told us we would become addicted to this craft - and it's true! It's fun and easy to grasp and with a variety of patterns to choose from you can set the difficulty level yourself. The time whizzed past and I really enjoyed learning something new."

Community Learning Partnership responded:

"This was our first time running a Bargello workshop, and I've a feeling it won't be our last as I've received such good feedback from the group, and Nerrisa is such a lovely person and tutor. Thank you for your review :-)"
