"This was a lot of fun. Having no experience since 5th form metalwork 45 years ago, I didn't expect to be much good at this.....and I wasn't!! I really enjoyed it though, and I made a serviceable knife. Andy was a huge help and his teaching style is both effective and engaging. Recommended "

"Had an amazing day with Dave. Real passionate for what he does and is an excellent teacher. He gave real clear instructions broken down into a few steps at a time to make them easy to follow. I couldn't recommend this course enough. "

"My daughter and I really enjoyed this course. The workshop was lovely, surrounded by countryside, and the size of the group was just right to ensure a good group dynamic while enabling Amanda to give some one to one assistance to keep everyone on track. Amanda is a skilled weaver and a great teacher. Regular tea and coffee and a generous piece of bara brith cake was very welcome during a full day of weaving. Diolch Amanda :)"

Anna reviewed: Upholstery for Beginners Workshop - in Warrington, Cheshire

"This course was so different to other craft courses I have done. It was really relaxed and the setting was beautiful. I really felt like the priority was to chill for the day, which I really valued. Jo offered delicious home made cakes and a really warm welcome. I learnt so much about upholstery and others who were not beginners also learnt new techniques and methods. Jo creates a very inclusive learning environment and gives everyone guidance. However, I felt like we were all free to follow our own ideas too and the end products all looked so different! Would recommend this without doubt to anyone wanting to learn about upholstery. I had a really positive and memorable day. Thank you Jo! "

The Boho Shed responded:

"Anna, thank you so much for your lovely review. I'm so pleased this was your fave! :-) Can't get better than that! Thanks for your very kind comments about the venue, cakes and the fact that you had such a memorable and enjoyable day too. xx"

"Me and my friend, Lydia, had a lovely time learning a new skill! Wendy is kind and patient (and makes a lovely cup of coffee!). We have come away equipped to make lots of stars as well as ideas for using them at Christmas time. It’s a lovely space to work in being surrounded by completed craftwork in a bright and airy space. The time flew by and we will book another course when my friend next comes to stay. Thank you Wendy 😊"

Laura reviewed: Maille making the traditional way.

"Absolutely brilliant! It was a group of 6 doing this for a friends birthday. Phil is a kind and patient teacher, he answered all questions and curiosities we had, explained the process and history of it well. I certainly recommend it to any that are curious. In our group we had a range of abilities and experience when it came to making things and by the end of the day, all of us had a patch of chain and a bag of the links we had made to take home with us."

Phil Parkes Maille responded:

"Thank you for the review and glad you all enjoyed it. I've enjoyed seeing the posts about the day on other social media."

Claire & Martin Kelley reviewed: Metal Sculpture Workshop for 1-3 people (1 or 2 Days)

"A superb day! Philip is not only an excellent & knowledgeable craftsman, but also just the sort of teacher you want, to guide you through the daunting array of equipment, materials & processes to be found in his wonderfully equipped workshop. Philip’s in-depth explanations & talented demonstration gave me the confidence to truly explore the previously dark art that is metalwork. "

Philip Melling Sculpture, Art & Design responded:

"Ah - thanks so much! It was a really fun day with both of you and I’m so glad you enjoyed it. You are more than welcome back any time you want to get deeper and darker! Philip "
