Description

Join Emma to experience this tactile art form. With over 20 years' experience in UK and New Zealand, Emma loves sharing her skills. Get snap happy... piece together your "Masterpiece", no previous experience required. Bring your own design or use Emma's templates, whether it be floral, pattern, wildlife, or numeric. Choose from a huge range of colours/textures. You will mosaic onto board then take home for grouting the following day - guidance notes and demonstration provided. Emma Abel is a wildlife mosaicist, specialising in critically endangered species to promote awareness. She exhibits regularly around UK with mosaics acknowledged by internationally renowned wildlife artists and conservation charities. Emma's mosaic workshops are a lovely contrast, providing students with the opportunity to mosaic a wide variety of designs from volcanos to Sydney Opera House! Treat yourself to a relaxing, stimulating day at Emma's studio in beautiful Somerset. Refreshments provided. Minimum of two students required for the workshop to go ahead.

For 25 years I have mosaiced pattern and wildlife murals in ceramic, marble, glass and more. We have great fun in weekly workshops bringing designs to life. When not teaching, I mosaic critically endangered wildlife, giving them a small platform to promote awareness. Since 2019 I have been shortlisted from c.3000 global entries each year in the Arts Initiative run by conservation charity Explorers Against Extinction. Regular commissions are undertaken, please enquire.

"I had a fantastic creative day on a one day course with Emma at Abel Mosaics. Emma is great teacher, she provides lots of inspiration, guides you through what is possible, then patiently teaches you step by step how to create your own piece. Her stunning mosaic’s make it look easy, but I soon realised there is so much skill involved in her intricate work. The studio is well set up with a great selection of wonderful tiles in so many colours for us to use, all the tools and boards were supplied. The studio is lovely and light, looking out onto the garden. I will definitely come back and do another course with Emma, so much more to learn."
