Sheila Blackshaw reviewed: Ceramic moon gazing hares

"Absolutely FAB course! It was my birthday present from a friend who thought I'd love it, and I did! Linda is lovely, a very personable, funny lady and a very good teacher. We all went to the course with a massive range of experience, age and ideas ( or not! ) but everyone went away from the day having produced very individual, but all excellent models. Her house is inspirational, full of quirky creatures and lovely artwork, and we were provided with tea and homemade cake, which just added to a lovely atmosphere. All in all, a great day - thanks Linda!"

Clare Wootton reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"Just back from a great day hammering hot metal into shapes resembling key rings & coats hooks! It looked so straightforward when Adrian demonstrated each step! Adrian and Andy were good, helpful instructors. The food was fantastic - home baked biscuits, flapjacks, cake & a very tasty veggie lunch accompanied by local cheeses and followed by a wonderful crumble. I came home having produced a key ring, dragon coat hook & leaf hook with which I was very pleased. I would definitely recommend this day."

Fyonna reviewed: Full day fused glass course with breakfast, lunch and all materials included

"I've just completed my first course with Kim and Sharon, and sincerely hope it won't be the last! What a fabulous day we had - great tuition, fun company and lovely refreshments. The whole day was relaxing and much more productive than I was expecting - I managed to make a variety of items including a platter, coasters, necklaces and a large window hanger. I can't wait to pick up the finished products next week. Kim and Sharon were patient and encouraging throughout the day and very generous with the materials (no extra charge for the glass). I'd thoroughly recommend this course as a good fun day out that is also very good value. I'll be back!!!"

Rob and Donna Bull reviewed: A fabulous introduction to fused glass - one day course

"This is an excellent day course beginning with an introduction to techniques and materials and the rest of the day you can design whatever you want where Siobhan gives a wonderful welcoming course and sets expectations what you can achieve as a beginner - she is extremely talented in this art. You get first hand help throughout the day and class sizes are just right. We were delighted with the results and can't wait to collect our pieces now that they have been in the kiln. Anyone attending this course will have a fabulous day out."

"A wonderful 2 days, as absolute beginners we learnt so much. Ruth and Andy were so generous with the information they gave us and they tailor made the course to meet our individual needs. The notes they gave us will serve as a useful reminder of the processes we covered when we set up our own workshop."

Chris Farrow reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"This was my second day with Mark following an initial day of tuition in June last year. This time I wanted to try some deep hollowing and was interested in both learning technique and getting a better understanding the various systems and tools available. Mark had just about every possible tool to hand and spent some time explaining the differences between them before settling on a couple for me to try. As ever his relaxed style enabled me to learn a lot, with a real focus on proper technique. I came away with much increased confidence in turning hollow forms and an excellent understanding the options for tools. I would thoroughly recommend a day with Mark to any novice or more experienced turner looking to learn or refine their skills and have no doubt I'll be back again in the future."

Alec Lawton reviewed: Silicone rubber blanket mould making course: for sculptors and makers

"I give top marks for this course. The venue was excellent and easy to get to. The facilities were excellent. The training was hands on including a wealth of information that is generally only won after hard years of experience. It really did cater to the art as well as the science of the work. I ended the day with a great deal more than I expected, 2 excellent moulds and a great deal to assimilate/ponder for the future. This has saved me a great deal of hassle and pointed me in the right direction. These people really know how to look after their students. Thank you."

Rosemary Sheen reviewed: Realistic and Adorable Needle Felt Animals & Pets

"I attended the workshop with Sophie earlier this month and can highly recommend it. As it was on a weekend it was important to me that the start time was not too early , so i was delighted that we started at a very acceptable 10.30am , with coffee and tea waiting for us when we got there. Sophie took the time to give individual attention to each group member and to help them choose the right materials to create their models in. The pace of the class was also carefully thought out with Sophie demonstrating each stage of the process before coming round and guiding each of us with our work. An excellent lunch was provided by Sophie's mum , and the afternoon saw us treated to coffee and cake. The models that our tutor had created demonstrated that she is clearly a very skilled craftsperson and even more than that, she can actually capture ( and help her pupils to capture ) the personality of animals with the use of just needles and wool. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing day which even provided the chance to make new friends. What more could anyone need?"

Stella Levy reviewed: Intensive 2 day mosaic course with Claire Cotterill in Moseley, Birmingham

"I attended this course recently. It was the first time Claire had run the course from her home due to having to find alternative studio space. She was an excellent hostess and facilitator. I really enjoyed the course. It was well paced and informative. I surprised myself with my first mosaic wall hanging which turned out really well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course and would like to attend further courses run by Claire. I'm hoping to pursue making mosaics as a hobby inspired by Claire."

"Nicky gave a Shoe Decorating workshop for me for my Hen Party! It was a surprise for me by my Bridesmaids and I had the best time! She was friendly, welcoming, fun and really clear and helpful in her instructions. So much glitter and sparkle and easy and enjoyable for someone like me you likes crafts but is not overly arty. The Workshop was fun, girly and above all gave us beautiful shoes - would highly recommend for a hen party, girly party or any excuse really. Enjoy ladies!! And thankyou!!"

Paul Wortley reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - Beginners and improvers wood turning courses - Turn British, all British lathes!!

"I recently participated in a wood turning beginners day course with Andy at his workshop in Fordingbridge , Hampshire. The day proved to be informative and very interesting and Andy was very patient as I was a beginner and he was able to teach me the basics of wood turning and the use of the equipment in a language that I found easy to understand . I came away with good sound knowledge of the basics of wood turning and all this was achieved in one day ! Thanks Andy . I will be recommending your day courses to others and to anyone reading this review I can vouch for Andy's expertise and easy to understand teaching methods for the novice . I will be returning to Andy's day courses and hopefully this is the start of a hobby that I will enjoy for many years to come ."
