Michele Ellerby reviewed: Needle Felting - Half Day - Feather Felts

"Enjoyed a lovely morning felting. Couldn't believe what you can make in such a short time and very therapeutic. Jane is a lovely lady, great tutor and very inspirational. All the materials you needed were provided, great choice of good quality merino wool in gorgeous colours. I love arty stuff but wouldn't say I'm particularly creative myself, but I made 2 lovely hair accessories which all my friends have been complementing me on. Jane gave me great advise on basics stuff to buy to get started. Have already ordered my wool and can't wait to get cracking."

Chris Woodford reviewed: Introduction to traditional green wood turning course

"This was an extremely informative and enjoyable day. I’d had an interest in wood turning for a while but never actually done it before. The beginners course was just right for me, Simon was an excellent teacher and good company with lots of interesting information and anecdotes. I went away with a dibber, the fruit of my labouring during the day. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone with an interest in wood turning, or, traditional crafts in general."

Ingrid Ogden reviewed: Candle making workshops

"I had a fantastic time on the candle making course. Angharad was so welcoming and friendly as were the dogs. Angharad is a wealth of knowledge and I learnt so much about the different waxes, colours and scents. I went home with wide range of different candles and tea lights and will definitely be making my own candles from now on. Thank you Angharad for a great day"

Nat Carthew reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"Just got home from a weekend spent pounding some hot metal with Mort. Fantastic fun and extremely informative. Mort really knows his metal and the history of smithing. Went to the forge with a list of four items that I was interested in making and just about finished the lot! (a bit of finishing still to be done on a couple of them) Highly recommended course!"

"My husband and I attended this course as part of a wedding present and we absolutely loved it!! Jan and Dawn are both great teachers. They take great care in introducing you to the art of stained glass and are both patient and knowledgable. We both can't wait to sign up for another course to get some new designs made as presents for family. We both cannot recommend The Glass Barn Studio 2 day workshop enough! Tim Camp reviewed: Wood turning courses

"Just a note to say many thanks for the wood-turning tuition today. I had a very enjoyable time - and Catherine was pleased with the end result too. Thanks for taking the time to add the coloured finish. You are a great teacher, having high standards but being patient when I kept on holding the gouge at the wrong angle! Please thank Susan for the drinks, biscuits & a very nice lunch. I might take you up sometime on your offer of some advice on what to buy. A workshop is high on the list of requirements for a new house."

Dave Harrison reviewed: One-to-one mount cutting for your next exhibition

"This was an excellent course and not just about cutting mount board. I learnt about some of the things you need to consider when presenting your picture/print etc, specifically the size of the mount opening, width of the mount borders and more creative positioning of the picture/print. That said a good proportion of the course was spent learning how to mark up and cut your mount board. To help with this I was given an introduction on how to use all the required tools and even a few tips on how to fix/hide any mistakes that I made whilst cutting. I was able to cut 7 mounts by the end of the course and now feel confident enough to continue at home in my own workshop."

Ash Fancourt reviewed: Furniture making course: Fundamentals of Furniture Making Part 1 (beginner)

"Well Aiden is clearly a true master of his craft. As anyone that has been on one of his courses will confirm he is a genuinely lovely bloke too, making you feel completely at ease even when faced with the seemingly daunting task of producing work to the same standard as his. I am very proud of the accuracy that with Aiden's guidance i was able to achieve, with only a few simple good quality hand tools. Over the weekend I really learnt to appreciate the characteristic nuances and natural beauty of the different types of wood provided. I would very highly recommend this course to anyone of any age and skill level who values quality and accuracy, as i have no doubt that any woodwork produced using Aiden's techniques will be treasured not only by the creator but also by many generations to come."

Kate C. reviewed: An introduction to wood turning with Gregory Moreton (2 Days)

"Gregory was a patient and skilled teacher. He never 'took over' and let us progress at our own pace. We were truly thrilled with the pieces we made. We covered so much in two days it was extraordinary. I went with my husband but any pair could do this with Gregory - friends, mum and son, anyone. My husband enjoyed the technical details and my lack of experience with tools and machinery made absolutely not difference. Great two days."

Jacques Wood reviewed: 1 day introduction to silver jewellery making

"I had a fantastic day, Jonathan was able to give excellent 1-to-1 tutoring. I was able to apply hands on skills from other disciplines, and if you're confident, he'll push you to make ever more intricate items, even if it's your first time. I took the course just to try something different, I left with useful information and plenty of ideas and I now want to continue it further."
