Carole Howard reviewed: Mosaic one day workshop for adults with Caroline Jariwala, Birmingham

"I achieved more than I ever thought possible on this wonderful one day course. Caroline is an absolute delight, having such a natural ability to bring out your (in my case, latent) artistic flair. Her own work is profoundly inspiring in terms of the subject matter and skills execution. I feel totally inspired to develop my skills further. What a magical day we had!!!"

Ewan Ryan reviewed: Advanced Timber Framing Course

"I did the two week course with Alan in July. I learnt lots, laughed loads and put on half a stone with Mary's superb cooking. If I can afford it I'll be back next year for a refresher. All the others on the course were great too which made it an experience I'll not forget."

Neil Colquhoun reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"I attended the one day course about a week ago and have to echo my fellow attendees comments.it was absolutely brilliant. Adrian's a patient and helpful instructor, giving us a hands on demonstration of all that we would try to make, then encouraging us to have a go and assisting where needed.I would encourage anyone to attend the course as it is fun and the pride you feel when you have accomplished the three pieces of work that are part of this one day "taster" course is immense. The food that Debbie prepared for us was superb, home made cakes, biscuits and a lovely lunch.I can't wait to hear about some other courses."

Dean Ryan reviewed: Advanced Timber Framing Course

"Fantastic experience. I did two weeks with Alan and enjoyed every minute. Alan's teaching style is superb. He makes everyone feel capable and at ease, he manages to divide his time so everyone feels that they are getting personal attention when they need it. The location is beautiful and the food was the best I have ever had, all home cooked and in huge quantities. Thanks Mary! The other people on the course were a pleasure to spend time learning with. I would highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in wood or in how to teach others regardless of subject."

Jacqueline Monroe reviewed: Mindful Mosaic workshops with Dionne Ible - Bedfordshire

"Dionne is a friendly and professional tutor. I had the pleasure of a days course with my two daughters who are 12 and 17. Dionne gave us great overview of mosaic techniques and was helpful and encouraging. We completed our pieces at home and were delighted with them! Dionne provides a warm and friendly atmosphere in which to ask questions and get tips on technique and how to approach problems with positive instructions. She was great with the younger children and has an easy to get along with manner. It was a lovely day, wonderfully relaxing! And great cake too!!!"

Liz Budden reviewed: Beginners Hand spinning - 'From fleece to fibre’ - at All in a Spin

"I had such a brilliant day and came away quite amazed at feeling that I could actually achieve the spinning and also very inspired to practice practice practice so that I could do some of the more advanced projects that Dunja described. Dunja's teaching is amazing because she watches and gives feedback and tips in a very detailed and practical way - very empowering! Coming away with an actual skein of wool was very satisfying. Home cooked lunch "en famille" round the farmhouse table was delicious and relaxing."

"A great way to spend time and come away with a personal memento of our holiday in Pembrokeshire. Maddie and Penny looked after us well. A relaxed atmosphere , surrounded by beautiful mosaics and lovely calming phrases, and a massive choice of mosaic pieces from broken coloured glass, beads, tiles, buttons and even scrabble pieces. I am very happy with my unique mosaic of warm colours and some bling. I have already bought a mirror frame to try making a mosaic at home!"

Helle McCollin reviewed: Fused glass taster (afternoon)

"I tried it and fell in love with glass even more than I did before. It's an excellent in expensive chance to have a play with glass and produce 3 amazing pieces. Genevieve is a great teacher, encouraging and patient with everyone. Made you feel at home with tea and biscuits but safety as the forethought. I expected a formal classroom setting all clean cut but was pleasantly surprised when invited in to find it is her very own workshop in a rustic setting with her beautiful art in varying stages showing just watch can be achieved if you wanted to take it further. Which I did by going onto the 2 day course to further my knowledge. I have just bought the introduction course as a birthday treat for my mum who I am certain will also love it. Can't wait to go back for more!"

Jonathan Wriglesworth reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"My wife bought me this as a birthday gift knowing that I fancied having a go at blacksmithing. Absolutely loved it, really interesting and hands on day. I have gone from an absolute beginner to feeling competent enough to have a go on my own as a hobby - would also love to do any follow up courses on more advanced techniques. Adrian was a brilliant and patient teacher and everybody was able to progress at their own pace. Extra praise for the sublime cakes and food served throughout the day. Well worth it!"

Chris and Jonathan Sowden reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"An excellent course that we highly recommend. We were both complete novices. This was not a problem at all. The five people on the course each had plenty of room and lots of hands on metalwork. Adrian is a very clear and patient teacher. He guided us through our projects and we each came away with objects that we felt proud of. There was a warm, safe, friendly atmosphere to the whole day. Lunch was great, quiche, local breads and cheeses and a delicious raspberry dessert provided by Debbie. Once again a very good course that I will happily recommend."

Susan Iwanek reviewed: Woodturning in Devon with Colin Simpson

"Colin is an awe-inspiring woodturner and also an excellent teacher who takes care to ensure his students actually learn and make progress. At the same time he has a great sense of humour and is great fun to be with. I spent three highly enjoyable days at his workshop improving the few skills I already had, learning new skills and techniques and improving my confidence considerably. I also appreciated his design talent which helped me make the best of the pieces of wood – one in particular quite exotic – that I took along. I feel now I can really make substantial progress back in my own garage and make my competence with handling wood come much closer to my passion for it. Many thanks, Colin!"
