Mike Hallett reviewed: Wood turning courses

"What can one say? A first class day's instruction removing countless wrinkles in my admittedly pathetic bowl turning technique. George's expertise and robust sense of humour made for a thoroughly productive and enjoyable day. You can always measure the quality of this kind of experience by whether ones first impulse on arriving home is to go straight to the workshop or tackle a rather fine sirloin steak. I'm afraid to admit the steak won but only under the extreme duress applied by my better half. Thank you George, I will be back- you have been warned!"

Steve Flanagan reviewed: Beginners 10 week woodworking course NO LONGER RUNNING

"What a cracking course this was! Hard work but you didn't notice it as it was a great feeling knowing what you were learning and making! Highly recommend this and Ciaran is so passionate about woodwork and tools but also passing that knowledge on and seeing how people enjoy it! My Dad did the 10 week course and he also really enjoyed it!"

Swazi Rodgers reviewed: 4-week online flower arranging class with Julie Davies Flower Workshops

"I took this online course with Julie Davies having had absolutely no experience at all. I found the tuition simple to follow and online videos were invaluble in learning the skills involved. Online support was excellent ranging from facebook, twitter and peers also taking the course. The pace was just right for me with no pressure to complete tasks in a specified time. I was able to fit in the tasks with my own schedule and feedback was prompt and helpful. I'd recommend this course for anyone who is interested in making the most of their flowers either from the garden or shop bought."

Isabel Pinder reviewed: Making large traditional Floor Rag Rugs with Emma Tennant: a 'Quirky Workshop' at Greystoke Craft Garden & Barns near Penrith and Ullswater

"A thoroughly enjoyable day in a delightful setting! Emma provided excellent tuition throughout. Her rugs are inspirational and I appreciated seeing her at work. Being able to use and purchase both the hessian/frame and hook there and then, facilitated the whole process and the acquisition of tools for a new adventure. The hospitality was super with good homemade fare and much appreciated. Even the cream scones at the close slipped down a treat! Many, many thanks for a most memorable day. Hector says, "Wuff!""

Donna Adam reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"A natural host and story teller,Kerry makes you feel welcome from start to finish. Her genuine enthusiasm for her products shines through as she takes you through the process of making soy wax candles and I was amazed at how much she managed to fit in, in a fairly short period of time. Kerry is very generous in sharing her knowledge and giving lots of hints and tips for candle making success. The workshop was conducted in a really relaxed but extremely professional manner , the group size was just right and it was lovely to meet up with and have a wee blether with new people over candle wax and home made scones - not at the same time of course! Great value for money and a fantastic feeling leaving with a beautiful fragranced candle made by ME ! Thank you Kerry."

Trudie McClatchie reviewed: One day leather bag making workshop

"This week I took my first ever One Day leather course with Rosanna. I wish to say what a fabulous day I had with such a talented teacher. Rosanna was so clear patient with me. We discussed what I wished to make, and on impulse I asked to make a good sized clutch bag I had admired in a shop. In her well equipped workshop I was guided through tasks I thought were beyond me. In the morning I made a personalised glasses case, using traditional saddle stitching by hand. After a delicious homemade lunch I sucessfully made a clutch bag and also a luggage tag. I came away armed with so many tips and stockist information. Thank you Rosanna five-star fun day. Will be back soon."

"Totally brilliant day at Lucy's house ! She was warm, friendly, interested in our projects, and so knowledgeable. I was amazed at how much we achieved in the day, supported by great food and regular tea and coffee. It really helped to have sewing machine skills, but Lucy was very helpful if people didn't.. I'd recommend this course to anyone interested in furniture.. thanks so much."

Luci Saunders reviewed: Make a textured, shaped and personalised silver brooch, pendant or pair of earrings

"Rose is a brilliant teacher and talented jewellery maker. I have been to her workshop on 2 occasions, the first to make a silver ring and the second to work one-on-one making a pair of silver ear rings. In both instances Rose managed to guide my making of jewellery pieces which I will always wear and treasure and also managed to allow me to feel a sense of independence and personal accomplishment! I would recommend both the jewellery Rose creates and these courses to everyone, she is wonderful."

"Have just spent a most enjoyable and worthwhile morning with Sue and Deborah. I have been wanting to master the art of crochet for sometime and while I will not say I am now an expert I do feel confident enough to try simple patterns and expand upon the basic stitches I have learnt. Will be looking to book a more advanced session in the future and try other crafts. Many thanks"

richard foreman reviewed: Woodturning in Devon with Colin Simpson

"This course is ideal for the aspirant wood turner and you could not have a more knowledgeable or inspiring teacher than Colin. As an absolute beginner I appreciated the open and friendly style of Colin's instruction and I came away with some nice pieces of wood but, more importantly, the necessary information to start turning on my own. The whole day was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would recommend this course without hesitation."

This drives me to put the theories I learnt into practice; and I'm extremely lucky to have Nick as my great tutor. "Enjoyed a fantastic day on the course with Lucy in her beautiful home. As a complete beginner I had been a little nervous beforehand but Lucy was great- clear, calm and patient and there was a really relaxed atmosphere. There was also great food and endless drinks. I learnt a lot and feel really inspired. Lucy was very generous with her help, advice/ tips and her time and is clearly able to tailor her approach to the needs and level of each person in the group. She also made sure that even beginners like me came out with a product to be proud of. I would not hesitate to recommend Lucy's workshops."
