Millie Wemyss reviewed: One day leather work course - small leather goods

"I honestly had the best day ever. I was lucky enough for there to be only two of us in the course that day, which meant I could ask as many questions as I needed to as we went along. Jason was fantastic teacher and really understood what I wanted to get out of my one-day course. He was easy to talk to and made a super-comfortable atmosphere for us to work in. The lunch was delicious and what an amazing building to be in! I have worked with leather for 9 years now, although not made items myself, but still learnt a huge amount whilst picking Jason's brain. I would recommend the course a million times over to anyone who enjoys working with their hands and learning skills - and it's so reasonably priced. Massively inspired and ordered a load of tools to continue with my leatherwork in my studio. I'm desperate to go up again and do the two-day course, which will probably be pretty soon!"

Martin Ball reviewed: Beginners 10 week woodworking course NO LONGER RUNNING

"What can I say, but wow! An excellent teacher and mentor, brilliant facilities and fantastic food. Not to mention the fact that I have learned a raft of new skills in such a short time and come away with a product that I can be proud of, as well as something that the wife is happy with! I'm looking forward to booking onto the Intermediate course to continue my studies with Ciaran!"

Candle making with afternoon tea reviewed: Candle making with afternoon tea

"I had a one to one course with Tracy this morning. Tracy was very informative, generous with her time, very patient and friendly. Constant cups of tea on offer. I made three candles, of various sizes and loads of melts all free to take home as included in the price. Can't recommend Tracy more highly to anyone who wants to learn to make candles for either pleasure or business. Easily 10/10"

Caroline reviewed: Beginners candle making workshop - London

"Thank you for running such a fantastic party for Molly yesterday; she had a super time, as did her friends. Parents have been commenting how much their children enjoyed the party and how impressed they are with the candles they have brought home. I have no doubt you will see us again, as our younger daughter is now asking for a candle-making party too!"

Saundra reviewed: Full day leather craft workshop

"I attended the one day leather workshop at Rosanna's studio in the the heart of Kent. I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a learning experience as much as this one! I cannot fault the day or Rosanna's teaching. I have some experience in making but had not worked with leather. The day flew as I made two styles of card holder and a lined purse. The day was shared with another attendee and we both enjoyed Rosanna's time and knowledge. I became quite absorbed in the hand-stitching element of the products and found the process almost meditative. Who knew. If you would like to learn some of the processes involved when working with leather plus leave with a handful of handmade goodies (that look shop bought) then this is the course for you. If you're looking for a day out with a friend (or two) then this would be perfect plus the day would make the most amazing gift experience! Rosanna is talented and generous with her knowledge. She is patient and accommodating. Oh, and the lunch was lovely too. 5 Stars all the way :)"

Polly reviewed: Learn To Crochet On The Norfolk/Cambs Border

"A friend and I had a lovely morning relearning crochet yesterday. Sue and Deb really know their stuff and teach in a relaxed and really knowledgeable way. I think I came away with the confidence to build on what I learned, and my own sampler of stitches is really helpful. The location is relaxed and at tea time we visited the animals, which was fab. I recommend this course unreservedly!"

Bob Kirk reviewed: Five day woodwork course - tools

"Attending this course has been a wonderful experience. My wife bought me the course as a surprise Christmas present and it has been the best present I have ever received. The course is very neatly set out providing all the help and guidance you need as the instructors ( Richard and Mark) take you through it. Experience is given on turning, routing, the use of a band saw, sharpening tools and finishing techniques. Part of each day is given over to an informal talk on the subjects such as measuring tools, sharpening techniques, recommended tools for a workshop and more. Whilst this is going on you are using the techniques shown so that at the end of the week you come away with a beautifully crafted piece of furniture. Richard and Mark are both exceptional craftsmen and they love passing on their skills to the participants on the course. I just cant wait for my wife to save up enough to send me on the next level of course."

"I have recently returned from this box-making course in Penrith and it was excellent. Mark teaches in a very relaxed and encouraging manner which enabled me to dust off some old woodworking skills and learn some new ones. I now have a beautiful lined flip top box made of oak and ash. I would fully recommend this course!"

Ewa Guscott reviewed: A one day felt making course designing and making your own pair of cosy slippers. in the Forest of Dean

"My daughter and I had never done any felting before so didn't know what to expect. Christine was welcoming and everything was very relaxed and, as there were only three of us that day, it felt very personal. She demonstrated each step clearly and encouraged us to really play with colours and patterns rather than stick to a formula - it was great fun and lovely to be able to come away with something you could actually wear!! Delighted with what we achieved. A very enjoyable and creative day spent in a lovely part of the countryside."

Katy Sunshine reviewed: Knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"What a lovely way to spend an afternoon!! My (grown up) son & I attended a workshop with Ann this afternoon & had such a great time. The Vintage Tea rooms is a great venue with gorgeous teas & cakes. Ann is a really patient teacher -we were both total beginners -but came away with a real sense of achievement having mastered the basics & being ready to practise lots & then have the option to go back & have another session with Ann. Wonderful to think that the money goes to charity too. Thankyou Ann."

Steve reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience Day

"I found the blacksmith taster day course online and read the reviews which all sounded brilliant. However, the positive comments don't do this day justice. Colin doesn't only know what he is talking about but I found his enthusiasm and passion for the craft made the day. A brilliant teacher, which is only surpassed by his support for the students needs. I will most definitely be coming back and really would recommend this to anyone. For someone who generally doesn't like people and find it's extremely hard in new situations, I found the whole experience relaxing and therapeutic. I'm sure I will be talking about this day for years to come. Thank you for an amazing insight to an ancient craft."

"Today I made a hand stitched wallet for my son, I was very specific about the size of the wallet and what compartments I wanted in the design. Nothing fazes Rosanna she come up with the design that would work best to get the design I was after. I now have a custom made, designed one off wallet in the softest leather thank you so much Rosanna for all your help. Her classes are so relaxed and a real pleasure to do."

Ian Butterworth reviewed: Four day intensive beginners woodwork course

"I've just completed this 4 day course and can honestly say it was absolutely fantastic - I returned home a very happy and satisfied person with my new piece of hand made furniture. Ciarán is an amazing & engaging tutor - full of passion, knowledge, patience and encouragement. The 4 days flowed seamlessly and there was never a dull moment. I'm going to put my newly learned skills into practice and next year take the intermediate course - I whole heartedly agree with ALL the 5 star comments below - such a top chap. Ciarán, I owe you !"

Andrew Williams reviewed: Beginners woodturning course

"I attended Ciarán's two day woodturning course, he took us over the basics and some required health and safety elements then got us straight on the lathe working away. Over the two days we produced a honey spoon, a garden dibber, and a small bowl, all the time giving practical hands on advice and guiding us through each step of producing wonderful items. Ciarán's love and passion for woodworking showed through his teaching and i've left the course feeling i've got some strong basic skills and the confidence to get me working on my own projects. Its been an absolute privilege to be taught by Ciarán, and I hope to be able to take up more courses with him in the future."

Bernie reviewed: Four day intensive beginners woodwork course

"I've just completed the four-day 'Intensive Beginners' course with my 22 year old son. Challenging, exhausting but so rewarding even for someone with my limited abilities. Ciarán is an exceptional teacher, patient, skilled and able to provide just the right level of support needed by each one of us. Perhaps most importantly, the course was immense fun helped by an inexhaustible supply of tea, coffee, biscuits, and a really great bunch of guys. It was my lad's idea to do this and I'm so glad we did. One day we'll be back for the intermediate level. I thoroughly recommend it."
