Jenny Thomas reviewed: Free Motion Embroidery Pictures in Buntingford, Hertfordshire

"Anyone who loves sewing and crafty things will fall in love with Sue's studio and all the bits and bobs she has there - let alone the marvellous display of her creative skills. And as for the course - it was fantastic. Sue is a great teacher - clear in her instructions and so patient and ready to help with advice. Through her I managed to overcome my fear of free motion machine embroidery and produce a lovely wreath which is proudly hanging in my sewing room prior to be on display for Christmas. We have already signed up to another course in January and if you live in the Buntingford area in Hertfordshire and want to increase your craft skills then I urge you to get in touch with Sue and you will have a great, creative time."

A & L reviewed: Introduction to Spoon Carving

"Perfect day. Chris is highly informed on all things related to spoons and wood-carving, and a friendly and professional teacher. We made spoons from start to finish from a block of wood using axes, knives, etc so really felt like it was our product to go home with. Lots of fun but also intriguing in the detail. Highly recommended."

Lynne and Mike Mercer reviewed: Making a stained glass art hanging

"I would like to thank Caryl for a brilliant day we produced three Christmas themed pieces each to take home with us, she is a lovely patient teacher which was great for me. We enjoyed hot drinks and a hearty lunch which was delicious. It was also great to meet four other like minded ladies who also attended the workshops they made my husband and myself very welcome into the group and all were very entertaining.. The workshop gave us confidence to try more Stained Glass projects, would recommend it to anyone that likes to try new things."

Carolyn Glanfield reviewed: Blacksmith Experience Day - Anvil Forge

"From the moment we arrived John made us feel very welcomed. I had some reservations as to whether I'd be physically or creatively capable, however, it soon became very apparent that these were ill-founded. John and the team were very organised, friendly and always ready to assist when required. I arranged this day as a surprise birthday present for my Son and it was lovely to see him so engrossed with the practicalities of blacksmithing and forgetting to check for incoming emails etc! We both learnt a lot and we were really chuffed with our individual projects which we will always have as a reminder of the day. FabUlous."

Woodturning Day reviewed: Wood turning tuition, New Forest, Hampshire (1 day) (2 people)

"I booked a day woodturning with Graham for my Dad's 70th birthday present and we had a wonderful time! Graham is very friendly, supportive and a good teacher. He gave us just the right amount of instruction and we had so much practical making time. We both made a candle stick and a bowl which looked far more professional than we could have imagined. The studio you work in is lovely and warm thanks to a little wood burning stove and the equipment you use is good quality. We were given lots of safety equipment too. Lunch was a lovely bowl of soup with lots of fresh bread. We were made very welcome by Graham, his wife (who kindly showed us around her onsite hedgehog rescue centre) and the dogs, it was all charmingly bonkers in a very good way! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Graham to anyone and both my Dad and I agreed we would love to go back for another day to learn even more. Joanne and Alan"

Alex reviewed: Take raw fleece to finished fibre 2-day spinning workshop

"What a great way to spend a weekend! Having never done any spinning or crafting before, with Elaines help I managed to produce something resembling "proper" wool by the end of the two day course. I learned so much and am planning to use my own fleeces once Santa delivers a spinning wheel. Elaine was lovely and I had a great time. Would definitely recommend especially for beginners like me. Thank you."

"What a fabulous day! A birthday treat for my mother, which turned out to be a treat for us all. Jackie is a wonderful host and an enthusiastic teacher. With a treasure trove of mosaics and lots of creative ideas to choose from, we were spoilt for choice for things to make. With plenty of support and a day of concentrated activity, we all left for home with something we were proud of. I would highly recommend the day - and the lemon cake! We will come again."

Kieran Kelly reviewed: Four day intensive beginners woodwork course

"I completed the 4 days beginners' course a few weeks ago and enjoyed every minute of it. It was great to learn how to do a lot of new things regarding woodworking and just as great to learn how to do properly those things I have tried before! The teaching was excellent; Ciaran explained very clearly and was always on hand to lend help when needed. To be able to go home at the end of the course with an item of furniture of which I could be proud was fantastic. I am certain that everyone on the course not only benefitted from what we all learned but also enjoyed immensely the conviviality of the four days. Thanks, Ciaran; I look forward to doing a few more jobs and then taking on the intermediate course. Kieran"
