On the one day course you will be able to make a mosaic for indoors, for example a picture to hang up, coasters, a bee, seahorse, a sign for the bathroom or bedroom. You can work from your own design idea or I can help you come up with a design.

I chose this course after seeing Joy's work on her website and I enjoyed everything- cutting and shaping the tiles, learning how to show form in mosaic and how colour works. The teaching and support given were excellent.

I learnt lots on this course- I like the idea of coming with my own idea and learning how to translate that idea into an achievable project- I made two small mosaic panels based on Shetland knitting patterns. The atmosphere was relaxed and I had a chance to ask about my specific interests and ideas, and to find out about other people's ideas. The course was an ideal length to complete a piece.

I chose this course because Joy seemed passionate about mosaic and there weren't any other courses in the right area. The course was well managed and the task- to complete a mosaic to take home- was achievable. I made a lily mosaic and Joy helped me translate the picture I brought with me into a design. Joy is friendly and helpful and I would take a further course with her to increase my skills and experience in mosaic.

This course was chosen for me by my daughter and was a great gift- I discovered that I have some artistic talent. I was very pleased with the mosaic I made which was an initial A in orange with a green background. I learnt how to use mosaic tools and all about the materials - Joy has a good range of colours and the studio is well set out. This was a most interesting and relaxing day - the time went too quickly!

I chose this course because Scarborough is a nice place for a short break and because Joy offered an interesting course suitable for beginners. I learnt so much and made a great sign for my brother's toilet door. Joy created a relaxed and supportive environment and I had a really good day - I liked everything about this day and now want to go on and undertake a longer course over a couple of days. I would definitely recommend this course to other people.

I made a door sign for my bathroom with a star fish design. I loved the relaxed easy going atmosphere and how informative Joy was - the course was a Christmas present from my sister and a great gift - it allowed me to discover another way of crafting and introduced me to mosaic.
