Lori Ridgway reviewed: Mixed media workshops in Staffordshire

"Mandy's courses are excellent, the venue is lovely and she cannot help you enough. I have learnt loads, and used lots of different types of media I would never have a chance to usually. She designs some lovely pieces and is very patient with us as we make them. A great couple of hours with lovely people, I thoroughly recommend Gifts From The Heart."

jackie gibbons reviewed: Crochet snowflakes

"Gaelle is a superb teacher she explains everything clearly and logically and is always helpful. The class was fun and we all had a lovely time. I was so enthused that I carried on making more and more snowflakes when I went home so then I had enough for a window display. I also tried one with a very fine wool that looked good on the christmas tree. I have booked on another class with Gaelle, and I'm really looking forward to it"

Elspeth reviewed: Wet Felting Workshop with a difference in Windermere in the Lake District

"Wet felting is painting with wools using beautiful vibrant colours of merino fibre and silks to create unique textile pieces. We have made wall hangings, scarves, cushions, placemats , vases and more. Erika is a wonderful teacher with patience skill and flare who guides and helps you through the workshop to the completion of your project. Workshops are a day of escaping into a world of colour texture and craft to then come home with something you will be proud of adding splashes of colour to your home and wardrobe."

Candy Jannetta reviewed: Sculpture, ceramics, painting at Lucky Studio - London

"My son attended Lucky's art class between the ages of 7 and 9 before we moved away from the area. Lucky is such an inspiring teacher and manages to get the children who come to her class to fully focus and produce the most amazing pieces of art. My son Luca developed his skills in ceramics, painting and drawing. He also learnt to focus and concentrate during Lucky's classes. I cannot recommend Lucky's art classes highly enough!"

Rochelle Parkus reviewed: 3 or 4 stone set silver stacking rings

"The most wonderful day was had with the lovely Sarah. My rings are exactly what I wanted and I absolutely love them. The tuition was thorough, well explained and Sarah helped me to have fun whilst making my Jewellery in a relaxed environment. I highly recommend Sarah and I would love to make more jewellery with her. Even the 4 hour round trip wouldn’t put me off. Massive thank you Sarah and also to your husband who mended my car whilst we worked on my masterpieces."

Marion Rhind reviewed: Stained Glass and Piqueassiette Mosaics Courses at Blue Sky Mosaics in Aberdeenshire Scotland.

"This class with Ann should come with a health warning ...beware it is addiction forming. Ann is one of the most patient teachers I know , gently guiding you through all the necessary techniques to create your own mini masterpiece . Looking back its several years since my daughter , sisters and I attended the first course and I have nothing but fond memories and still love Mosaics . I remember such good craic over the 2 day course that we came away feeling we had not only learned a new skill but made a new friend . Ann's encouragement does not stop when you leave the premises either. Her ongoing mentorship and passion for mosaics has been a boon to me with all sorts of ongoing queries . I would recommend Blue sky Mosaics wholeheartedly to anyone looking to acquire a new addiction"

Archie Stephens reviewed: Two day leather bag making workshop

"I contacted Rosanna about helping me construct a pattern and teach me the skills needed to sew a heavy duty canvas and leather tote bag. Having never used a sewing machine before I was a bit apprehensive of whether or not I'd be able to produce a good product, Rosanna was such a good teacher, I never felt out of my depth. Everything was explained very well, and when the bag started coming together I was so happy with how it turned out! I have come away from the course with much more confidence about making these bags in the future. After we finished the bag we had some time remaining so Rosanna helped me hand tool a leather notebook holder and knife sheath. Hand tooling leather wasn't something I was originally interested in but after learning the skills I now have some products I can make using scraps of leather I have left over! I am so chuffed to bits with what I've gained from the course and it was certainly worth every penny! Thanks Rosanna!"

"I attended a silver clay workshop with Jo at her beautiful location. Jo went through all I needed to know without over complicating the process. I made two amazing pendants with Jo’s guidance and can’t stop looking at what I achieved. If anyone was thinking of doing this workshop I can’t recommend it more highly than what Jo delivers and I will be booking in for another day in the future."

Louise Evans reviewed: Crochet snowflakes

"Lovely 3 hour workshop which was so helpful! There were 6 of us with Gaelle which was perfect. It made for a lovely atmosphere and it meant that we had lots of opportunities to get individual help and advice from her. We made 3 of the snowflakes and each one showed a different skill. I'm not the best at crochet but along with the snowflakes, Gaelle offered some hints and tips to help me in my general crocheting and this was invaluable help! She was really friendly and approachable and I'd definitely attend another workshop with her. My crochet projects have come on in leaps and bounds since the snowflake workshop."

Janice Ketley reviewed: A relaxing day of clay making

"My workshop was a present and I didn't really know what to expect but I had such a thoroughly enjoyable day that I will return. I look forward to the glazing of my "household gods" and their benign presence in my house. They will remind me of Tricia's benign care of me; she is a nurturing mother in all respects as the homemade bread and brownies would attest. I would thoroughly recommend one of her workshops and know that the participants will be as delighted as was I."

Melinda Holden reviewed: Weekend upholstery courses - Oxfordshire & Berkshire Borders

"I have just had a lovely upholstery weekend. I decided to come to this course, although it is an hour drive away from me, because I liked the reviews and I have to say I was not disappointed. Philip is a lovely teacher, very knowledgeable and allowing everyone to make their own choice once he explained what the options are. What was particularly good in this weekend, that you learn about tools, the correct usage, materials, and you end up seeing another 9 project and you are asked to come around and watch how things are done professionally. Philip explains everything so you really get to know about all the mistakes you can do as well. So I ended up learning a lot more than I thought I would. It got me really excited and I am now looking for new projects as well so I can come back and learn more and have a very enjoyable weekend."

John Land reviewed: Introduction to silver jewellery making workshop with Diane Lee

"I choose the course to refresh skills I last used many years ago, as I have had requests at home, to have a go at making simple silver jewellry. Diane lead us thru the process of decorating and then forming a ring, first from copper, then we could use our new skills to make a second piece in silver. At every step through the process, Diane included firemen or the gods of soldering, offering fresh pointers to help our efforts to be successful. I enjoyed the course so much that I have since ordered the few tools I need to continue at home."

Jane Tarrant reviewed: Blacksmith Experience Day - Anvil Forge

"My husband and I received this day course as a wedding present. What a wedding present! John and his team made us feel welcome and ensured we knew how to keep safe in the forge. From there we instantly learned some skills and warmed up by the fires. A poker is an ideal starting point and we have proudly displayed ours. After learning the basics, we were able to design our piece. (A door knocker for us). Lunch at a local pub was a brilliant day break before setting off on our project. With 3 staff on hand we always had 1 person to help instruct us in manipulating the heated metal or using machines during fabrication. They welded for us and we finished and filed. The end result was brilliant but the journey making it was worth the extra money because now our new knocker has happy memories. I'd recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn a skill and spend a day of quality time together. Thank you Anvil Forge."
