Students work in small groups of up to 10, with mixed abilities and ages. New students are encouraged to begin with a small item of furniture such as a drop in seat, a small footstool, or even a headboard. All equipment is available to use, but students are welcome to bring their own tools if they prefer.
Advice and teaching is very hands on and practical and students will learn at their own pace in a friendly and fun environment. Students with no experience are welcome and will be taught the basic skills required to progress to a complete upholstery project. Students with some experience and a desire to refine skills or learn new techniques are equally welcome.
Both modern and traditional techniques can be learnt.
The course is currently located in Almondbury, a couple of miles from Huddersfield.
Individual or small group lessons can be booked at different times including evenings and weekends, and the content and level of the tuition can be tailored to particular needs.

Tools are available to use on the course. Materials and essentials such as tacks, staples and other ancillaries are available to buy at minimal cost. Also on offer are a wide variety of fabrics for purchase at below retail price. Refreshments are available on site for a minimal cost.
