Clare Watson reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Kerrylyn's candle making workshop this morning was excellent! She is a very personable lady who obviously enjoys meeting people and welcoming them to her home. She was extremely well-prepared, explained everything simply and clearly and also provided everyone with comprehensive instructions to take away. Her passion for what she does is quite contagious and I would have no hesitation in recommending the workshop to anyone who is interested in learning about candle making and spending a highly entertaining morning."

christina young reviewed: Woodturning in Devon with Colin Simpson

"I spent an invaluable day with Colin relearning many long forgotten turning techniques. Colin judged what I wanted to gain from the day perfectly. He gave enough slack for my confidence to build whilst being patient when things needed to be repeated (and repeated!) I came away with two beautiful bowls and a renewed enthusiasm for my lath. In addition Colin also reshaped and sharpened all my tools. I would heartily recommend paying him a visit."

Josh Cardew reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience Day

"Had an absolutely brilliant day with Colin, would recommend him to anyone who wants to try their hand at blacksmithing. I've been interested with the idea of blacksmithing for a long time but I wasn't sure how to go about having a go. My girlfriend found the course and got me a voucher, and it couldn't have been better. I feel I learnt a lot from him and have some unique souvenirs crafted by my own fair hands. You can tell that Col has a lot of passion for his craft and he's eager to help students gain hands on experience. The day flew by and I'm already thinking of booking again so that i can learn more from him. He's definitely given me the blacksmithing bug!!"

Natalie reviewed: Wet felting / needle felting workshop: Private session with Zenia from The Lady Moth

"I would definitely recommend a bespoke workshop with Zenia. Me and a friend wanted to try something that had a few different textures so we could learn a variety of techniques and she was really helpful in deciding what would be a suitable project to work on. As there were only two of us she was able to watch what we were doing and give us individual feedback throughout the workshop. She was very helpful and patient. She didn't rush us at all and her explanations were really clear so we knew what to do and why."

The Lady Moth responded:

"Thank you :)"

Dale reviewed: Blacksmithing one-to-one North West UK

"A really great and full day. I’ve always been interested in metalwork but have never had the opportunity to have a go at a forge. Colin’s one day course in Blacksmithing is a perfect introduction for a complete novice (with few ‘practical’ skills in general!) to get involved and have a truly immersive and thoroughly productive day in the (finer than expected) arts of metalwork. Colin offers you the opportunity to make almost anything you can imagine and teaches you the skills necessary to make it happen. I came away with two pieces I’m really proud of whilst my fiancé (who joined me for this great day) made three. I’m certainly coming back at some point to learn more from a true Master of Blacksmithing. Thanks Colin for a really great day."

Mo Wood reviewed: Creature Collage Workshop

"The incredible warm welcome that was given to myself and three friends set the tone. From the moment we entered your studio we were made to feel welcome. We had a relaxing collage day ; I thoroughly enjoyed making my' Uluru' creation - my husband is going to put it on display. It reminded me of a special time in Oz. Tania provided resource materials; I chose a special photo as my stimulus. We valued being in a relaxing and creative environment. I learnt a little more about the crafting skills needed and valued the way we were led through the day, complemented by cake and coffee! It was an enjoyable occasion."

angela Graham-Barrie reviewed: Intuitive Collage for Healing, Personal Development & Wellbeing

"This is a relaxed way of self-exploration. With no pressure to perform. There is plenty of informative information as well as being encouraged to explore what feels right for myself. It seems to be that after a period of change, processing and re-connecting I feel creative. Creativity re-enforces for me the deep changes within."

Leila reviewed: Glass fusing private class - fun taster class for beginners

"Really enjoyed my starter lesson, which was a gift from the husband. Sarah was very friendly and welcoming, and the studio was lovely to work in. Lots of different materials to use, and Sarah described everything really well. I'd more than happily go back again and have another go, to try out different ideas. Looking forward to seeing my finished pieces!"

Mark reviewed: Basket making in Norfolk

"A thoroughly enjoyable full-on day with expert basket maker Julie King. Julie has a clear and relaxed teaching style that made each of the complex stages of the project come together in a way which was easy to follow. As well as an introduction to the skills Julie is able to pass on some of the history and background of the craft and it’s raw material. We all went away with a finished wicker basket which is credit to Julie. All-in-all a very rewarding day. Mark and Jackie."

DC1 reviewed: Folk Art One Day Workshop: Sunflowers and Lavender

"I attended the Lavender and Sunflower course recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is so much to learn throughout the day my head was buzzing with ideas and inspiration when I left. Since the course, I haven't stopped painting! Carol is so knowledgable, there wasn't a question she couldn't answer. It was a fantastic day worth every penny and I was amazed at my progress from the start to the end of the day. I can't wait for my next workshop with the Folk It team."

Lindley fallon reviewed: One day silver pendant and earring workshop

"I went to the pendant and ear ring course with Jolene recently. It is my second time working with her - and it won't be the last i am sure! It was great fun and i came away with a lovely pendant for an old school friend which i am sure she will love! As before Jolene makes you very welcome, is full of encouragement and help - yet leaving you to explore your own ideas. I would recommend any of Jolene's courses to everyone! Thank you."

Michael Golding reviewed: Paint The Tree of YOUR Life art & personal development

"I found this a very enjoyable and enlightening experience. I was rather anxious at the start as I had not touched any painting materials for a very long time. However, Kassi gives you all the support, advice and instruction that you need to take those first steps. There is plenty of time for reflection and Kassi is very respectful of each individual's situation, ensuring that you only share what feels comfortable. I learned a great deal from the experience and now have a picture that continues to inspire me. I would recommend this course and would say to anyone that is hesitating - jump in!"

Rebecca reviewed: Creating ceramic animals courses - with James Ort & Alison Pink

"Absolutely loved it! I had really minimal sculpting experience from messing around with fimo and sculpey, and no experience working with "proper" clay and I couldn't quite believe that I had actually managed to make something that looked like an ACTUAL animal. The teaching by both James and Allison is incredibly thorough without being boring, as it is split into three different areas (armature, body, head) so there isn't too much information to take in all at once. It was fascinating seeing how easy it was to pick up the techniques, by the second day I had improved considerably from Saturday morning. James and Allison provide as much or as little help as you want - if you're skilled they'll let you do your own thing, but if you need help like I did they will show you enough to complete what you're trying to achieve without completely altering or over-riding your sculpture. The studio is fantastic, there's every kind of tool that you could possibly need to create your work, and James' friendly chickens wander around outside. He also made brownies with eggs laid by them which were lovely! I had a really great time learning new techniques, meeting new people and as a bonus now have sculptures of two of my beloved pets! The teaching has encouraged me to take more courses here in things that I am even less confident in such as wire modelling and drawing/painting. I learned so much in two days with clay that maybe I could learn that much in two days with another skill too!"
