Olivia von Halle reviewed: Georgie's needle felting animals

"I had the most wonderful morning doing a needle felting course with Georgie. I’m not a ‘crafter’ and have never done anything like this before so didn’t know what to expect, but I loved every minute of it. It was the most fantastic way to take a break from life, to really concentrate on something and allow my mind to relax into an almost meditative state. I was really proud of my little mouse and have become quite attached to him! Georgie is an amazing teacher, brilliant at explaining and very encouraging. Her home is lovely and we had delicious cake and tea and a lot of laughs - it was great fun. Thanks Georgie!"

Georgies Felted Friends responded:

"Thank you Olivia for your lovely review and I am very pleased you enjoyed your morning on my course. Kind Regards Georgie"

Barbara Walker reviewed: Felt Pictures-Painting with fibres - intro to 2D wet felting/felt making

"A great afternoon learning new 2D felting techniques. Heather was a great host and tutor explaining each stage in the process at a good pace and it was interesting to see how they all evolved. The small size of the group ensured personal advice as needed in a great atmosphere. The cakes were yummy too I will be making some this weekend. I would highly recommend this course."

Gill Biddle reviewed: Felt Pictures-Painting with fibres - intro to 2D wet felting/felt making

"Heather made us very welcome with her range of teas and lovely homemade cakes before we got stuck in to selecting from her beautiful rainbow of coloured wools and starting our felt making. All four of us were complete novices but under Heather’s excellent guidance all achieved pleasing results. I would definitely recommend Heather’s courses."

Valerie Mendenhall reviewed: Crafts in the Valley - Beginners glass fusing workshops in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

"How fortunate we are that classes like this are offered, with projects easily accomplished by a novice or beginner under the exceptional tutelage of Melanie. Melanie made this new-to-me art form accessible by sharing her wide variety of supplies and teaching us a number of techniques resulting in four projects. I felt confident knowing she was right beside us guiding us through the selection of colors and materials. The class was well organized, with supplies neatly laid out, alternating instruction time with project time. She organized a lunch outing at a nearby restaurant, which was included in our class price. And had breakfast pastries and afternoon (lemon - yum!) cake for us. My only wish is that the venue (quilt shop) had opened for an hour for the class takers to do a little browsing & shopping! But since it was a Sunday, the quilt shop owner certainly deserved a day of rest."

David Campbell reviewed: Festive soap and cream making with The Scottish Soapworks

"A relaxing learning environment helped by the friendly and welcoming approach from both Lynn and Jenny. Lovely surroundings and a real sense of team effort from start to finish learning both processes. I've already passed out samples to friends and family and have started to purchase the products to continue to learn this fascinating process. I have the bug and will be back for other courses and may even look to the two day business course with Jenny I enjoyed it so much. A fabulous day and I'd highly recommend it to anyone curious about the soap making processes."

The Arienas Collective responded:

"Hi David. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. We're delighted to hear that you've continued making soap at home, and it sounds like you've really caught the soap making bug! Hope to welcome you back again soon. With best wishes, Lynn"

"I've done 2 courses now - wonderful escapism! Really loved getting stuck in to doing something totally different. Georgie is very patient and complementary to encourage you along - and despite not thinking of myself as creative I surprised myself at what can be achieved!! Can't wait to get back to make a zebra - hopefully a whole wildlife park in future!!"

Tom reviewed: Georgie's needle felting animals

"I have now done 4 courses. They have all been great fun with a lot of laughter. I am the least crafty person on the planet but I surprised myself that I could create something that almost resembled the brief! On one course the task was to make a mouse. Mine didn’t quite turn out like that; I like to call it a poodle mouse (possibly a world first) but I am enormously proud of it. It’s addictive and I would recommend the course to anybody."

Georgies Felted Friends responded:

"Thank you Tom for your review. I am very pleased that you enjoyed the 4 of my needle felting courses you came to. Your Poodle Mouse was amazing and certainly a first! Kind Regards Georgie"

Becky Ellison reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - Beginners Course - 1 Day

"I would highly recommend doing Oliver's course. I had very little knowledge of French polishing but by the end of the day I felt as if I had gained an enormous amount of knowledge and skills. I took a leaf from a large Victorian dining table as my project and by the end of the day it had been restored beautifully. The notes Oliver provides are excellent and he divides his time very well between everyone on the course. He provided everything that was required and the facilities are good. I agree he is an excellent tutor. This was a day very well spent!"

Mrs Sarah Collins reviewed: Crafts in the Valley - Felted Pictures Workshop in Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

"I did the felting course, which covers wet and needle felting along with using machine embroidery as embellishment. Lovely course, very clear instructions and lots of help. Books and pictures were provided for inspiration or we were free to use our own from home. This is a really enjoyable and satisfying set of techniques to learn. Best of all, you go home with a piece of finished work using them. The venue was Cobbles and Clay in Haworth and a delicious lunch was provided. Looking forward to my next course already."

A very hands-on course where we were encouraged to follow our own ideas and try different techniques. Great venue in her light and airy studio. A relaxing lunch which was most welcome - especially the homemade cake ?. Julie made this a really enjoyable and rewarding day that I'd recommend to anybody wanting to try mosaics or develop their skills."

susie stanway reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - Beginners Course - 1 Day

"I wanted to do this course to supplement my upholstery services so that I can offer more professional wood restoration services to clients. Although it's perfect for hobbyists I would say that it's also suited to anyone looking to develop their skills in a professional capacity too. I've just finished the Association of Master Upholsterers 3 stage diploma and it's been a fantastic bolt on to my training. Ollie is extremely generous with his knowledge and his own work has a really nice contemporary style which fits with the type of upholstery I like to do, because of this I felt really confident that his advice would result in the type of finish I wanted and it did! Highly recommended."

"Georgina is both an experienced and fun art teacher. Her recent workshop was an enjoyable and informative experience. She was both encouraging and challenging with innovative ideas, giving advice on practical tips for painting different objects as well as composition and specific effects, such as capturing movement and light and shade. I learnt a lot and my painting ability has noticeably improved, giving me more confidence to experiment further. Asanga Judge"
