Viv Craze-Wuttke reviewed: Explore your camera part 1 - Get off Auto

"I recently attended the Get Off Auto course run by Sid Smallman at Dartington and cannot praise it enough. Sid is passionate about photography and his presentation style encourages learning and participation. The workshop benefits from being a small group and this ensures everyone can contribute. As a novice camera user I learnt so much about my camera and whilst only scraping the surface of what it can do, I still feel more confident to go and try different things and get that perfect shot! Thanks again Sid."

Going Digital Devon and Cornwall responded:

"Thank you Viv, I'm so pleased you feel the workshop has been of practical benefit to your photography. I look forward to seeing your progression in our dedicated Flickr group. Enjoy..."

Rob Murphy reviewed: Introduction to leatherwork with Armitage Leather

"Excellent in every sense of the word. Nigel is a natural educator but he's also someone who has clearly worked hard to perfect not only the craft of leatherwork but also his skills as a teacher. Often these skills don't go together but Nigel has both in spades. A highly professional approach at every step, from email communication to location instructions and throughout. A great training facility too with an abundance of tools of the highest quality and a well laid out and welcoming environment right the way down to the quality of the coffee! Add to that a first class teacher and you can't really ask for more. It's not a surprise to me that even seasoned leatherworkers travel from far and wide to learn from Nigel."

"I have just spend a lovely weekend with Elaine in her studio. I am amazed to have gone from having zero experience to producing a yarn that I am really rather proud of! Elaine was incredibly patient and looked after us well over the course of the two days. I can't recommend this course highly enough - especially if you are an absolute beginner or even if you need to brush up on your skills. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience - I can't wait to start practicing myself at home!"

Samantha Leigh reviewed: Painting animals in watercolour

"As a convert from acrylic painting to watercolours, I learnt so many valuable tips and techniques form Liz, how to make use of the colours, tones and how to put them on your paper, very simple once you know how!! So thanks for that Liz, the demonstrations are easy to follow and understand and offer many 'light bulb' moments. Liz herself was a great mentor for the day, and thanks to her guidance, I've sold a couple of my own paintings recently. onwards and upwards! Highly recommend, whatever level you are at :)"

Liz Chaderton Artist responded:

"Thank you for such a lovely review and congratulations about selling your paintings. I think it’s a huge compliment that someone wants to live with your work every day! Really pleased you enjoyed it and hope to see you again soon."

Lyn Weller reviewed: Painting and drawing course at Castle Park Arts Centre, Cheshire: Abstract Architecture

"Had a great day on this workshop learning how to abstract elements of architecture and combine into a cohesive composition using collage, watercolour and acrylic paints. Pam is an excellent tutor giving very clear guidance and working at an appropriate pace for everyone in the group. I came away inspired to create further compositions - the architecture of my home town and industrial architecture around the canals and railways. Delicious lunch and lovely studio too! Highly recommended."

Jane reviewed: Introduction to candle-making as a business

"Highly recommended! We booked this as a Christmas present to ourselves rather than more needless gifting. We are all avid fans of Jo’s candles so this was perfect. Brilliantly fun morning and anyone could do this (I’m not crafty at all and did wonder if I’d mess it up - FYI, it’s not possible to do so). Jo is so friendly and welcoming I felt I’d known her for years and she really we involved with us. Lunch was scrummy too and we got a lovey haul of awesome products to take away with us. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat!"

Peter Wong reviewed: 1 on 1 gem cutting: standard round brilliant or diamond cut: meetpoint faceting

"I myself give thumb up on this course from James. Nice man with good knowledge on lapidary arts of cutting. Giving yourself experience to playing around with gemstone cutting. You will end up making that stone yourself of cos with the master Yoodaa instructing you. Instead wondering around on the internet for answers, is quicker try it yourself and bring home knowledge that you will pride for."

Treasureworks responded:

"Thank you Peter! It was a pleasure meeting you and you were an awesome student, a pleasure to instruct. I've never been compared to master yoda before and it's a great hounour. I must say this: Hmmmmmmmm! Facet you will! Now you understand the way of the uncompromising critical angle, much light you will reflect from the darkness... All the best for 2020! Regards, James :)"

Claire Simmons reviewed: One-to-One Private workshop

"I attended two of Gigha well run courses, drift wood and making seagulls workshops. Both were fun, but run with care and attention to detail, care taken at all time with health and saftey, and reminding you when things are hot or you need to be aware. The workshop itself is full of glassy goodness, so bring pennies as youll want to buy her beautiful creations x All tools were there for all to use, and plentyfull too. Everything we needed, and no shortage of colours to choose from. Dinner was fantastic! Jacket potato and yummy salad. I attended both classes myself, and didnt feel at all left out, and had a really fun day both times, and ill be going back too x"
