Felicia Dutton reviewed: Monthly drink & draw evening class

"I LOVE the Friday evenings spent with Julie at Drink & Draw. I can't tell you how much of a treat it is. It's not just the splish-sploshing of art materials, even though that is tremendous, or the wonderful themes and new materials to try, nor, of course, the wine and nibbles, but the excellent ambiance and wonderful company that can be found there. Once tried... forever hooked."

The White Room Art Studio responded:

"Ah thank you, what a lovely review"

Steve Roebuck reviewed: Weekend introductory blacksmithing course 'B' at Quinnell School of Blacksmithing

"A really enjoyable course. The tuition & support were excellent, always on hand to help if I got stuck or needed an extra process such as welding done (by Eamon or Ambrose as we weren't trained to do it). Both I (& more importantly my wife!) are delighted with the garden obelisk I made as well as the smaller items, especially the steel poppy for Remembrance Day. Food & beverages were plentiful and delicious, particularly Pauleen's home-made cake."

"Excellent teaching - Stephen told/showed me each stage and then let me complete the task. Renewed 2 dear old cookery books so they are now good for another 40 years. (Much coffee and chocolate, nice little walk to town centre at lunchtime.)"

Jon Poleszczuk reviewed: Weekend introductory blacksmithing course 'B' at Quinnell School of Blacksmithing

"Absolutely amazing! I was intouch with the school prior to the course to find out more about it and what things I could make over the weekend, I was told to keep an open mind as there was a lot of flexibility in what we wanted to make. After the first hour of learning the basics we got to make a few guided pieces, this helped to not only learn some key techniques but also start straight away on building ideas for my own design. The support from all Ambrose, Eamonn and Richard was amazing...they were very patient with each student and made it a great atmosphere to learn in. Also, the provided lunch, tea/coffee and cakes were fantastic and helped keep us all going!"

Alan Harding reviewed: Stickmaking workshop in Luton

"I have been attending this course for more than 5 years. Instruction is excellent and every facet of how to make a quality stick is covered by the Instructor. In addition many things can be learned from the other members of the class and I have picked up many inspiring ideas from the long established set of class members who are all friendly and willing to share their knowledge. The class is held in very pleasant modern surroundings in a well equipped school workshop, the atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming and I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone contemplating learning the very interesting skills of Stickmaking."

Mark Elsmore reviewed: Beginners Pottery Day Course

"I received a days experience on the potters wheel as a birthday gift from a friend. Upon arriving at Dimbleby Ceramics myself and my friend were met by Matthew and were instantly made to feel welcome by himself and his wife, Rachel. As I had never done any pot throwing before i was a little apprehensive, but there was nothing I had to worry about. Matthew is a very good teacher, is very patient and put me at my ease quickly. The workshop was nice and warm and within minutes we were on the wheel working on our first bowl! Under Matthews calm instruction it seemed only a few minutes had passed and I was sitting in front of a bowl that I had made! I couldn't believe it! The day could have ended there and I would have been happy. To cut a long story short, before the day had ended I had many more bowls, jugs etc, each time learning another technique. My friend and myself have done a few experience days in the past and this has to be the best I have done so far. Anyone looking to do a course on a potters wheel could do no better than booking one with Dimbleby Ceramics. Definitely a five star experience."

I would recommend to anyone and I shall definitely return in the future!"

"I attended a half-day dry needle-felting course, my third class with Barbara. I have previously made a wet felt picture, and a handbag. Today I made a robin and a penguin. I have been very pleased with everything I have made, and they have been much admired by friends and family. It was a lovely afternoon out with a difference. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, combined with excellent teaching. Thank you, Barbara."

Feltworld - Creative Arts responded:

"Thank you elizabeth. I am also really pleased that your felt bag is traveling around the world with you too. Barbara"

Peter Lawton reviewed: Blacksmithing - one to one - Hammer Skills

"My son and I had a brilliant day with Bob! I hadn't used a forge since I was at school and that probably made me a liability; but Bob took us both through each of the essential, primary, hammer skills over and over, step by step until something akin to competence emerged. His patience paid off because we both managed to make a useful item: my son a Viking knife and me, a poker. Wonderful and permanent reminders of a great day. Thank you Bob"

"Went with a friend for her birthday treat, both complete newbies to papercutting and the morning whizzed by! Aimee is great fun and her enthusiasm is very inspiring. Enjoyed trying something new - our concentration levels were very high indeed!, but it was also a very sociable morning and we appreciated being able to continue at home with the materials provided."

Am certainly now inspired to carry on doing this at home. I can thoroughly recommend Jamal's workshops."
