Course Start DatesSaturday 25th January 2020
About the Course
The day will introduce students to the basic techniques of jewellery making using sterling silver. All the techniques will be taught as a group and you will be fully supported in the making of the piece you have chosen to make.
You will learn how to create either a ring, a pendant (a silver chain is included), a pair of dangling or stud earrings, or a bangle to your own design - and you will make test pieces and try with all the different tools before starting on the final piece.
You can either enroll on:
- Silver Ring workshop (£60),
- Silver Earrings workshop (£60),
- Silver Pendant workshop (£75),
- Silver Bangle workshop (£85).
You will be introduced to the skills of sawing, filing, soldering, texturing and polishing and will go home with a finished piece of silver jewellery!
This course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn the basics of jewellery making using Sterling Silver. You will have full instruction of all techniques and will work in a relaxed and fun environment.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served and you can bring your packed lunch.
The jewellery course is excellent. I went with three friends and we all made bangles. Marion explained everything clearly and demonstrated different techniques.
I love my bangle and wear it every day.
I’d definitely recommend doing a course here.

Really enjoyed the course. First hour used to hammer and experiment on copper sheets. Making a silver ring was much more involved than I thought it would be with the pickling and filing and polishing. Really pleased with my results. Marion is an extremely charming and great tutor. Would recommend this course. Small group so a lot of input from our lovely teacher! Thank you Marion - totally enjoyed my day! 😀

Don’t be put off by the surroundings, with a maximum of four students Marion teaches from a snug but well equipped studio.
Initially practicing on cooper, we soon progressed to creating our own unique silver ring.
Course duration was just about perfect to finish our creations and the best accolade from a friend was that they looked like shop bought.
Thanks Marion for a very enjoyable course and bringing out some previously unknown creativity - Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed the course to create a pendant.
Marion was fantastic and the setting was really very lovely and intimate and gave us lots of help and guidance with making our pieces of jewellery.
Thank you for a lovely day , would recommend to others 👍

Marion's course was of a very high quality indeed. We were fascinated by her clear modelling of many intricate jewellery-making skills and then found that we were very quickly replicating her techniques ourselves! Marion's close guidance throughout the process was excellent - she was extremely patient and was able to tailor the experience to the individual depending on our preferences. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were very pleased with the beautiful and unique silver rings we made! What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday!

Had a excellent experience at Marion’s ring making course. Her expertise and attentive teaching allowed us to be very hands on and use our own creative process with expert supervision. I love the ring I produced and the creative process was really rewarding. Can’t recommend this course enough.

Attending the course was a birthday present and it was really wonderful. Marion was very friendly, patient and encouraging. She explained each part of the process clearly, then allowed us to have hands-on experience of each step under her careful supervision. Her expertise and attention to detail meant I was able to create something I'm really pleased with and proud of having made. Definitely recommended :).

My mother and I did this on the spur of a moment one Saturday.
We had the best time, it was so hands on, Marion was lovely and very approachable.
She explained everything wonderfully and we got to practise and try out things on copper before committing to a design or a way of doing things. It was a perfect morning activity, it does take a number of hours and is quite intense. You get to use all the tools and Marion is there to support you the whole way.
The only advice I would give would be make it bigger than you think, Mum and I made Rings and made them too small, only thanks to Marion's expertise were we able to get them to fit.
I would do this again in a heart beat, and even consider for a mothers day gift, girls day out, hen do, anything where you want to do something with a take away at the end!
