Bianca reviewed: Giacometti style bronzed animal sculpture one day workshop Suffolk one-to-one or max 4 students

"I consider myself a beginner when it comes to art and Di was so helpful and patient when taking me through this course. The space is beautiful and really relaxing, it made focusing and getting lost in the creative process really effortless. Di is friendly, incredibly creative and so knowledgeable - it was such a cathartic and fun process to create a hare sculpture with her. I'd really recommend booking a class with her - either as a 121 like I did, or as a group - because she can really hold space, is warm, fun, friendly and makes the whole process totally enjoyable. Thanks Di! :)"

Art on the Edge responded:

"Thank you so much !!!"

"A wonderful way to spend the day! The studio is a warm space surrounded by Alice's work, books and looms which are so inspiring. As there are small numbers on the workshops, everyone can work at their own pace and without pressure and Alice is generous and passionate to share her knowledge and skills. Looking forward to the Macraeme workshop next!"

Charlotte Thomas reviewed: Beginner's Candle Making Private Workshop - Marlow, Buckinghamshire

"I’d highly recommend this course if you’re keen to learn how to make candles for fun as presents for family and friends or to start a candle business. Sarah is an inspiring and professional teacher who knows her stuff - from the history of candles, the types of wax, wicks, fragrances and colours available to the various processes and where to buy the things you need to make them at home. The 3 hour course was relaxed and fun. My 13 year old daughter and I really enjoyed it and were happy to take home a bag full of various candles we’d made ourselves!"

Candle by Events responded:

"Thank you Charlotte, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me."

Sue and Edmund reviewed: Alien spoon carving

"Honestly couldn’t fault Alan and his partner in either hospitality or the delivery of the course itself. Booked for my 11 year old son who Loves whittling, and went along myself. Alan was both knowledgeable and patient. We both left with serviceable spoons (albeit not to the level of Alans!), but more importantly an addiction to do more! Totally inspired - thank you so much!"

Julie reviewed: Introductory pottery wheel throwing taster sessions

"What an amazing experience !!! Booked a 2 hour session for myself, a friend and her daughter. And we loved it so much that we have booked a day long course. Lorraine is such an experienced and caring instructor. She took time to talk us through all the process and kept checking and advising. She makes it all look so easy but it isn’t. Despite that we all managed to produce some acceptable pieces. It is something I would completely recommend to do."

Mike France reviewed: Stained glass day course (Rhondda Cynon Taff)

"The course was well presented and not as difficult as I expected. The basic skills required for this introduction to stained glass, were not hard to grasp and the production of a leaded stained glass panel was very satisfying. I would recommend this course anybody that has an interest in stained glass."

Julia Forte reviewed: Stained glass taster day in Worcestershire

"We had an absolutely fabulous day with Vicky and Vic! I bought the day as a present for my mums birthday, and my dad came along too. All three of us really enjoyed it. Mum made a beautiful fusion glass dish, I made a humming bird with copper foil and soldering and my dad made a stained glass boat panel with leading. It was so interesting to learn about all 3 techniques and a huge insight into what goes into making stained glass pieces. Vicky and Vic are so enjoyable to be around and really made the whole experience a real joy and nothing was too much effort. The lunch spread was really tasty too! A fantastic day out and I would recommend to anyone! Thank you so much."

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Hi Julia Thank you for the review, it was an absolute hoot having all three of you in the workshop! Here's to free spirits and naughty corners!"

CharlotteH reviewed: Glass fusing workshop - 1 day

"I can't recommend this course enough. Not only the chance to try a new craft or build on existing skills but also because Jill and John are so very welcoming and look after everything to make your day extra special. The high quality coffees and hand crafted cakes and chocs really help to put the gold ribbon on things. Whether this is your first time being creative with glass or your 101st time Jill can give you all the support - both practical and artistic - you need. They are both very easy to spend the day with and cook up a 'proper' hot lunch for you. Don't hesitate to book up."

Fired Glass responded:

"Thank you Charlotte for your glowing review. You have encapsulated what we aim to do with all our customers, thank you. Regards John and Jill"

David reviewed: Watercolour techniques for all - 4 week online course - Tuesday evenings via Zoom

"5 Stars I can strongly recommend the workshop. By the end of Purnima’s 40 minute zoom class I had produced a picture my wife wouldn’t have believed possible. Being a complete novice it came as a surprise to see what I could do with guidance. I feel fortunate to have found this new interest -- such a shame I hadn’t realised at the start of the lockdowns. David"

I Akerstrom reviewed: Blacksmithing one-to-one North West UK

"Truly brilliant day! I booked the 1:1 course as a gift for my husband. Colin was in touch before the day with useful information and offered to talk through ideas. My husband had a very vague plan to make a toasting fork, which turned out amazingly thanks to Colin's help in designing and making - he got to try all sorts of tools and techniques! I wasn't expecting to do anything but take photos but Colin let me have a go too, so I had a little hook of my own to take away too. Neither of us had any handcraft experience but he made it so accessible - if you're considering it, I 100% recommend it!"

Geoff Kendall reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"My partner and I had an absolutely brilliant day with Jon at the forge last weekend. Jon quickly senses how much help you need in each of the many and interesting tasks involved in making a knife, and is happy to stand back while you do everything while always being ready to step in if needed. We left at the end of the day clutching something that we felt *we* made, which is brilliant. Jon is passionate about the craft and an excellent teacher. His energy and enthusiasm is infectious, which is really important as it really is a full day and I could imagine it feeling quite tedious with the wrong person. I thoroughly recommend a day at Kerr Forge - you won’t regret it!"

Joanne Hackett reviewed: The First Cut - lino cutting for beginners & rusty printmakers in Derbyshire

"This was my second course at the slipper studio. I enjoyed the blind embossing course so much that I decided to book a Lino cutting course for my daughter as a Christmas present. Liz is a fantastic teacher and makes you feel very welcome in her beautiful studio. The course had to be postponed due to snow but Liz was very flexible and we agreed a new date. Best Christmas present ever and some great prints made. Thanks Liz we lived our day with you and Bert ?."

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Jo & Louise, Great to work with you again and thanks for letting me know about your day. You both produced some lovely pieces and will hopefully be able to continue with more lino cutting and printing. I hope Louise’s prints will be a useful addition to her coursework. Best wishes Liz (and a sleeping Bert)"
