Kay reviewed: Lampworking Workshop: Half Day Beginners Workshop

"A friend's teenage daughter and I spent an absolutely brilliant morning with Suzanne, learning glass bead lampworking. We learnt far more than we anticipated we would, and the beads we produced were much prettier and more advanced than we expected! Suzanne is a brilliant teacher. She demonstrated and explained each step clearly and concisely, and answered all of our questions really helpfully. We felt as though we understood what we needed to do at all times, and under her caring watchfulness were able to execute and successfully create beads that are genuinely lovely! We found glass bead lampworking to be really compelling! You just want to carry on trying again, and learning more! It's meditative and satisfying - a lovely, creative treat. Our 3 hours with Suzanne flew, and both of us would love to go again to learn some more, and create some more beautiful beads. I have no hesitation in recommending Suzanne's workshops - you will have fun, learn, and be super pleased with yourself and what you have made at the end of it. It is a joy to be taught by Suzanne."

Suzanne Jewellery responded:

"Thank you Kay for posting such a wonderful review. I am so pleased that you and Anné enjoyed your lampworking experience. Hopefully I'll see you both again soon."

"Brilliant course delivered by a very skillful tutor, who knows just what to say to encourage you and when to keep quiet and let you explore the technique. All the steps were explained and demonstrated clearly. Amanda was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Cheryl Waterman reviewed: Beginners DIY & Home Maintenance Workshop in Cheadle, Gr Manchester (1 Day)

"Such a fantastic course! It is really informative and we covered so many basics including DIY repairs, basic plumbing and electricals and painting and decorating. I feel much more confident having a go at these jobs at home now rather than paying money to get someone external in. Jo is really knowledgeable and friendly and the whole day felt a very welcoming safe space which I was grateful for. Highly recommend! "

The Boho Shed responded:

"Thank you so much lovely Cheryl. You were a pleasure to teach and I'm delighted you feel more confident to tackle those jobs yourself now. Go girl! x"

Sarah-Jane reviewed: Creative metalwork and welding, scrap metal sculpture.

"So if you want a creative day - love seeing things repurposed and want to have a go at using tools and techniques to join metal - then this course is perfect Absolutely friendly and welcoming workshop space. I went alone but I’m thinking it’s a great day for a group of friends. It’s a small ratio so it felt very safe and there was plenty of space and time to use all the tools. Excellent presentation of tools and techniques. Very very encouraging and supportive hands on help to see projects get going and develop to an end result. Loads of scrap metal and bits to create whatever. I saw a lamp - a lantern - a garden planter - a robot - a garden ornament Some people had some clear ideas - others just rummaged. I’ll definitely be doing it again. "

WTF Workshops responded:

"Thank you Sarah! That’s lovely feedback. I hope we see you again. "

Mary Jack reviewed: Art clay silver

"I did the silver clay course with Jade and thoroughly enjoyed it. Much better than I expected. It was relaxed, fun and very interesting to learn the process of silver clay jewellery making. I would definitely recommend this course as it’s not too difficult and I ended up with two pairs of earrings which I had made. Jade (and her husband, Ian, who joined us later) were such nice people and they made this course really worthwhile. The group was also provided with endless supplies of tea/coffee and delicious cakes. Thank you, Jade and Ian."

Goldwrightsjewelleryschool responded:

"Thank for a lovely review Mary your earrings were so lovely, I’m so glad you enjoyed your morning:) "

kevin Holley reviewed: Come Frame With Me - Making your own Picture Frame

"What a brilliant day. Ady is an excellent teacher and guides you through the process of selecting your frames and mounts, preparing each with perfect accuracy then on to assembly including cutting the glass. But the day was so much more than that with Ady generously sharing his wealth of knowledge on everything framing. The pace was just right, the studio comfortable and 1-1 tuition. I cannot recommend this course with Ady highly enough for any one thinking about having a go at framing"

Studio 93 Framing responded:

"Thank you for your very kind words Kevin, you can come again! A pleasure to have you over for the day and all the best with your future framing - please let me know how you are getting on! "

William reviewed: Woodturning Experience Half Day - Come and spend half a day turning your first bowl

"Enjoyable, useful and informative. A good foundation and taster to find out whether I wanted to go further with this, and or whether I am too cack-handed to progress further. As I left with a couple of perfectly acceptable bowls (mostly my own work), I think I can assume that I am able to move to the next step. I recommend this, and indeed have already suggested to various friends that they have a go."

Bodden Cross Studio responded:

"A great pleasure working with you William and thank you for the lovely review. You do have the skills to progress and please remember that I am happy to continue to advise you on tools, lathes etc. I look forward to seeing your next piece."

Tony reviewed: Kitchen Knife Course

"By far and away the best experience day I have ever attended, an absolutely fantastic day! Dave is very knowledgeable, patient, and a great teacher, striking the balance perfectly between the practical and explaining the science behind what we were doing. During the day I shaped my blade on the grinding wheel, heated it to 820(ish) degrees in a forge and quench it in oil, made a handle from scratch and attached it, and worked the finished blade to razor sharp. We even had time at the end of the course for Dave to run through some the basics of wet stone sharpening. At the end of the day I left having had an outrageously good time and with a handmade knife made from local steal that will be used daily and will take pride of place in my knife collection. Really can’t recommend this course enough – huge thanks again Dave! "

Hand forged Yorkshire responded:

"Massively appreciate your time in leaving such a kind review. I'm over the moon you had such a good day, me too!! It was a real pleasure to meet you and have you in the workshop, you did a great job with your knife and should be really proud of what you achieved. Well done Tony Kindest regards Dave"
