Embroidery workshops for beginners

Description

Each 2.5 hour session will take one or two of the basic embroidery stitches, showing how to sew it and then explore how it's done and what effects can be made with it using traditional and contemporary styles. Over the six sessions you will be encounter a variety of fabrics and threads suitable for hand embroidery. You can build a set of samples either as the letters of the alphabet or sampler pages for a stitch book for display or future reference. 23rd February - Running stitch and Whipped stitch 23rd March - Back stitch and stem stitch 27th April - Cross stitch 25th May - Chain stitch 22nd June - Satin stitch and Couching stitch 13th July - Seed stitch and Herringbone stitch You can dip in and out of these sessions as each is stand alone or book them in a series.
