Paint a Zentangle Platter

Description

Join us for a fun and relaxing half day painting a ceramic pizza platter using a combination of glaze techniques. Saz's Ceramics & Crafts is an established pottery painting and ceramics studio set in the heart of the Black Country within the site of the historic Red House Glass Cone.

With a maximum of 6 people per class socially distanced, Saz will guide you as to how to band a platter, then sgraffito (carve) a design onto it and use a fine writer to zentangle (posh doodle) the rest! If it sounds challenging, don't worry; it's easier than it looks and the results are so rewarding! Once you've finished, feel free to wander around the site, which is free to enter, and visit the many other craft studios based at the Cone.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

All use of pottery tools, brushes, platters, glazes and firing costs are included in the price. Your platter will be ready for collection a few days' later.

Refreshments will be provided during the workshop, and there's the Red Cone Coffee House just next door if you'd like to order a delicious lunch or treat yourself to a slice of homemade cake as a reward for your 'hard' work painting! If you'd prefer to bring a packed lunch, it's lovely to sit at our picnic tables by the canal and watch the world go by (weather permitting, of course!) The aim is to make sure you leave having had an enjoyable experience, with a view to coming back soon!

What a wonderful experience!
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our morning in Saz's workshop.
If you're looking for something fun, creative & relaxing, then this is definately for you.
Saz is friendly, knows her stuff & made us feel at home.
We hope to book up again for another of her workshops at christmastime.

I attended this course recently and it was amazing!
Saz explained everything in easy to follow steps, and I felt completely at ease. I had an idea of what sort of patterns I wanted to try, but if you weren’t sure what to do straight away, Saz has plenty of ideas and suggestions to make your piece look fabulous!
Saz is so patient and encouraging - I would recommend this to anyone! My finished plate is just beautiful!
