Katy Swift reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"The class was a gift from my partner and it was my first time trying throwing pots on a wheel as a complete novice I was put at ease and had very helpful guidance and teaching from Pat one on one. It was good leaning more about pottery and clay in general and the time flew by! I wished it was longer but I am now signed up to do a Adult Ed Introduction to Potter my course I enjoyed it that much! That says it all really. Thank you Pat. "

Pat Southwood responded:

"So pleased you had a good time and that I have inspired you to take it further, good luck!"

Sunny reviewed: Quilt in a Day, one-to-one course with Amanda Jane Ogden

"Excellent, well thought out course and Amanda Jane is a great teacher who explains things patiently and well. With this 1-2-1 course I was able to learn and practice hands on all the steps to make a small quilt : cutting, sewing a few different patch styles, and then joining the patches, creating the layers, basting, quilting, adding borders and binding. I came away with a finished miniature quilt, and the skills needed to make a full size quilt. The individual tuition helped me learn all this in 1 day so was really time efficient and I think good value vs a 2-3 day beginner course to cover the same skills in a group. I would definitely recommend this course and Amanda Jane as a teacher. "

Amanda Jane Textiles responded:

"Thanks so much for your review. It was a pleasure to teach you and to see you make so much progress over the course of the day. Amanda"

Jonathan Richards reviewed: Furniture making course: Fundamentals of Furniture Making Part 1 (beginner)

"A great introduction to some of the basic skills in cabinet making. Jarrad ran the course I attended and he worked hard to make the workshop a very welcoming place. He clearly talked us through every step and was always on hand to help. Aidan dropped in occasionally and was always ready to offer encouragement. Its a 'hands on' course and each attendee had access to good quality, well maintained tools. Highly recommended."

Jeremy reviewed: Introduction to woodworking

"A well structured course which was well attended. Philip spent a good amount of time explaining the minimum amount of tools we could reasonably have to begin working with wood and demonstrating how to use the powered tools in the workshop. In the afternoon we got our hands on the tools, squaring off a piece of wood and making up a mortise and tenon joint. We also got to try out the powered tools. An excellent introduction from a knowledgeable and enthusiastic tutor! Thankyou Philip"

Anne-Marie Bannister reviewed: Seaglass jewellery workshop at Sea & Solder, Dorset.

"Fantastic one day tuition with Jules at Sea & Solder learning to make a ring from sea glass and silver. A new, fun, amazing experience! Jules was so friendly and went through each step slowly, and was infinitely patient if she had to repeat instructions three times! Being part of a small group of four was perfect as we got individual attention and enjoyed learning together. I was amazed at what I achieved and am thrilled with my ring - and now want to make plenty more! Will definitely return. Thank you Jules!"
