Sharon Littley is one of those people you meet, who changes your life. It's just like magic, seeing her guide a class of students, (Some of whom have never held a chisel before. ) all creating different carvings under her tutorage, whilst thoroughly enjoying the process and ending the course with their own carved masterpiece.

Relief carving course at Higham Hall 27-31st November: This was my first carving course with Sharon and it quickly became evident that many others on the course were returners- very reassuring. She quickly put us new comers at our ease and lead an inspiring and supportive class encouraging self direction and individuality but offering generous help and instruction when needed. The opportunity to work 9 to 9:30, with generous breaks for meals and rest when needed, over 4 days was wonderful in the beautiful relaxed setting of the Lake District. I hope to return next year

I have just returned from a carving course with Burn Brae Carvers in Cheshire, led by Sharon. What a lady - Such enthusiasm and a natural talent for bringing out the best in each of us.
I hadn't used or sharpened chisels before, but after carving my Lovespoon, now feel quietly confident to handle them with the respect they deserve!
Thank you Sharon and for the good talks we shared in between the carving!

Another wonderful four days of wood carving. Although I have been very ambitious this time I feel confident I will finish my project before the next time Sharon visits us in Cumbria!!

-

We have just attended another of Sharons courses. She is an excellent carver and very good at teaching her subject. Everyone on the course really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next one.

-

We have just had our third two day session with Sharron. What an excellent tutor - and SO enthusiastic. looking forward to being able to join her again at some point in the future. whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced carver, Sharron will have lots of help and advice to share.

-

I recently attended a two day course run by Sharon for our local U3A. Sharon is an excellent teacher who makes you feel comfortable whatever your standard and we were shown a wide range of carving techniques using our own tools wherever possible. We were also shown how to sharpen tools - it was worth it for that alone!

-

My 10 year old son and I have just completed a 3 day course and what an amazing time we've had.
Neither of us have ever done anything like this before and will definitely be doing it again. From the minute we walked through the door Sharon made us feel so welcome and relaxed, we had lots of one-to-one attention and step-by-step instructions, she was so eager to help, encouraging, complimentary, professional and very funny!
In a nut shell we are both hooked on carving and have already booked on Sharon's next course.
Thank you sooooooo much.

First course that I've been on with Sharon, and I certainly was not disappointed. A really great week-end, and I was so-o-o-o glad to have been able to sign on for the third day (bank holiday). Sharon is an excellent teacher, brilliant at getting different techniques across, and explaining different aspects of wood-carving, from sharpening tools, to guidance on tools and equipment, as well as the carving itself. She is not only an exceptional wood-carver herself, but is able to impart that knowledge and make it fun. The time flew by despite many hours in the workshop, but it was all laced with fun, laughter and relaxing conversation with Sharon and with the others on the course. The majority were 'regulars', but v. friendly and welcoming to newcomers like me, making me feel at home right away, and part of the group. Thank you to everyone, but especially Sharon. Lucy

As a complete novice to wood carving I wasn't sure what to expect from the week-end course in Sussex with Sharon Littley, but it was an excellent introduction to the art. Sharon is a great tutor; knowledgeable, friendly, full of enthusiasm, and able to get a group to 'bond' instantly despite the great range of experience in the room. She organised everything from ensuring the rooms and meals were perfect to some wonderful stories from her carving experiences over the years. I didn't even need to bring any tools as she has everything to hand. I left the course with a piece of work I never thought I could achieve...and am hooked on wood carving now.

-

I have enjoyed wood carving with Sharon for many years
And regard her more of a friend than a tutor. Sharon has
Patience with everyone, never reprimanding you if your work is not quite right but cleverly adjusting your work so that it looks good. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons as it's my time and look forward to it.
Thank You Sharon

-

The course that Sharon ran at Higham Hall in Cumbria was wonderful. The atmosphere is always so friendly and we have lots of laughs as well as being taught the very complicated art of relief wood carving. I am looking forward to the next time Sharon is in Cumbria.

-

So enjoy my woodcarving. You are a great help. I have learnt a lot. It's a very enjoyable class and I always look forward to the class each month. All the very best for the future.

Tried my hand at wood carving this weekend for the first time. Organised everything last minute, but Sharon was wonderful in helping me join the course and making me feel so welcome and supported. Was a fantastic weekend - amazed that Sharon helped me to do so much in such a short time, but made it also fun and stress-free. Was just the tonic I needed, not to mention coming away with an original Christmas present for the box. Thank you Sharon for your generosity of person and of spirit!

-

Another weekend with Sha at Lodge Hill has resulted in some amazing carving from new attendees to more experienced attendees. Sha resided over the course with her usual aplomb! We had wonderful conversation, lots of fun and, of course, superb carving tuition. Many thanks Sha. See you in May for the next course. Xx

-

My husband and I have been attending Sharon's class for 10 years, we truly enjoy our leisure time spent there, the tutoring is excellent in all aspects of wood carving and would recommend her to everyone. Thank you Sharon xx

-

I have known Sharon for many years and have witnessed her work with both admiration and great pleasure. She has always had the highest of standards in mind and this, obvious from the carvings produced by her. So much so that I had to join her class some years ago, hoping some of that excellence would rub off on me. (I'm still trying). She has a wonderful way of communicating with her students and only too willing to pass on her knowledge. The commissions she undertakes are of a finished standard unequalled and are shown to us the privileged, not to demean us but encourage us as to what can be achieved. Sharon is without question an excellent tutor and should anyone be looking for a new experience, hobby, etc., they would do well to consider attending one of her classes, weekend courses or demonstrations, they are a perfect joy.

-

Want to try something different? Look no further than a wood carving experience with Sharon LIttley. .I have been attending her classes for the past 3years, carving Love Spoons for my family.Sharon is a friendly, approachable and talented artistic tutor who can transform your ideas in order to achieve your own personalised masterpiece. Examples of her own commission work continue to amaze all her students. She is based in South Wales, but runs courses in many G.B. and Worldwide locations. An excellent 5* tutor.

-

I have been attending Sharon's courses for 12 years, she is the most professional tutor you could wish for, she has the ability to see the end product of your carving at the earliest stages of that block of timber that you start with,
If you want to achieve good quality carvings whilst having a enjoyable relaxing course in a great atmosphere with lovely people attending this is the place to be,
Try and see some of her own personal carvings then you realise how immensely talented she is.
Many thanks Sha for the happy years that I spent with you
trying to rise to your standard.

-

Sharon is very friendly and approachable and an excellent teacher. She clearly enjoys sharing her skills and experience with both novices and more experienced carvers.
She supports each individual in the most appropriate way for them so we can work to the best of our ability and produce work that we are proud of.
Her own pieces are exceptional and inspiring.

-

I am in my second year of wood carving and have found Sharon's way of teaching very good, in as much that it's tailored to each individual at a pace that suits them, she is patient gives good instruction and advice, and the classes are very enjoyable.

-

Sharon is the most excellent teacher . Her teaching and carving skills are second to none, she imparts her knowledge without making you feel embarrassed, instead you find you can do wonders with a piece of wood. Her classes are always a happy and joyful experience,so you never miss one.I have been privileged to see some of her commissions which are always exceptional. Sharon has been teaching my 10yr old Great Grandson and he thinks she is the GREATEST.

-

I have attended Sharon s courses just over 12 months.
she is an excellent tutor, wood carving is a new learning course for me, Sharon explains every thing in a simple manner to you, how to use tools correctly and safely.
A true professional.
Thank you Sharon

-

Sharon has been my tutor at her Wednesday wood carving class. She has been able to transfer her extensive knowledge and skills to the members of the class. She has a natural and friendly way of working that makes the class a pleasure. The fact that the class has been full for years on end reflects Sharon's excellent skill and teaching capabilities.

-

I had my monthly, Saturday, woodcarving session wih Sharon yesterday. As usual it was very productive ( i am working on my eleventh lovespoon) and as usual, a very pleasant social occasion with the class.
Sharon is a first class teacher with limitless talent and patience, if you are an old hand or a beginner she is allways happy to help and advise.
Looking forward to the next class in March and starting on my next piece.

-

Since retiring 16yrs ago I've completed 4 different courses all involving woodworking and have enjoyed them very much, however, to date, the most satisfying of all is the carving class with Sharon.
Not only his she a Prima Donna in carving, Her expertise in teaching the subject is second to none.
One of my best works is a carving of Christ on the cross for a church in a little village in Italy where my mother was born.
I could not have done it without Sharon's Guidance.

-

I have attended Sharon's classes for nearly 10 years. She is an amazing tutor; so patient and skillful, and has the ability to deal with learners as well as the more experienced carvers. Her criticisms of one's work is always constructive and helpful. Attending her classes is a joy. Furthermore she is a brilliant carver and some of the commissions she's completed have been of an outstanding quality! Can't wait till t he next class. Thanks Sharon.

-

I enjoy going to Sharon's classes .we learn from a very talented and skilfull tutor who maintains a happy and very encouraging atmosphere for all students, regardless of ability. Cheers shar!!

-

I have been woodcarving with Sharon in Port Talbot for seven years. It is such an enjoyable and rewarding experience to be able to share and benefit from Sharon's immense skill and knowledge. Her teaching style is both relaxed and assured and her endless patience is much appreciated! Keep up the good work.

-

Four years ago I joined Sharon's Woodcarving Classes with my Grandson (then aged 10). I had never done woodcarving before but soon became "hooked". Sharon teaches all ages and abilities, but with her wonderful talent, patience and sense of humour helps everyone achieve amazing results.

-

I have attended Sharon's carving classes at Port Talbot for many years, and with her superb tuition have achieved a high standard, having won First Prizes in the Craft section at the Royal Welsh Show for a number of years. Sharon has, with her patience, limitless knowledge, lovely sense of humour and in an enjoyable atmosphere, given me such pleasure and an ability to produce various items that I am very proud of. I recommend her system of tuition to anyone who wants to take up a very satifying hobby.

-

I had never carved before I started Sharon's classes. Sharon doesn't just carve love spoons, although her spoons are exceptional in their detail, but she is a good general carver. That means that whatever project you choose she gives good workable advice. She is an excellent, patient teacher with a brilliant sense of humour. They are classes I really enjoy.

-

We have just spent a weekend with Sharron Littley in Port Talbot, being helped to improve our wood carvings. Not only is she a very talented wood carver, but she is a superb teacher and most of all a lovely lady - AND she makes good Welsh cakes! We will definitely be seeing her again

-

I have just spent a fantastic weekend carving course with Sha at Lodge Hill, West Sussex. I really enjoyed myself and even though I am a novice carver Sha was patient and helpful and I left with a beautiful love spoon for my mums 80th birthday. I hope to return next year as it was "Such Fun"!! xx

-

Excellent tutor, from novice to experienced student Sharon has the ability and knowledge to make your choice of carving
in what ever form become something special. Thank you Sharon for your time, patience and instruction.

-

Recently returned from a weekend course run by Sharon at Alston Hall, Lancashire. She is such an infectiously enthusiastic lady, who went to great lengths to get everyone 'settled in' and prepare a piece of their choosing to carve. She is effortlessly talented, generous with her tools and equipment, and so positive and helpful in her tutoring. If she comes up again next year I will certainly be there-thanks so much Sha! Can't wait to come carving with you again! xx

-

Have just completed a week's course with Sha in Wales - after many prior courses with her she continues to amaze me with her knowledge and skill. Nothing is too much trouble and she can carve ANYTHING, although her love spoons are exceptionally brilliant!!

-

Sharon has the skill to make everyone feel they can do the carving they choose to carve and make you feel at ease doing it whist getting the best out of every student
