Wet felting with Virginia
Contact course provider
About the Course
Wet felting is a method of producing felt from wool and other fibres. Warm soapy water is applied to layers of wool tops. Repeated agitation and compression causes the fibres to hook together to create a single piece of fabric. You will really enjoy creating a beautiful picture using an amazing array of colours. Once the work has dried you will be able to hand or machine embroider on top to further enhance your work (your work will not be dry during session). Virginia will demonstrate machine embroidery at the end of the session.
You will need to bring a wooden rolling pin, a large towel to absorb water from your felt as you are making it and pictures to inspire you. Virginia will bring pictures and books just in case you can't find anything you like.
For further details please contact Virginia via the phone number or contact form above. Max no per workshop is 4

I had a fantastic morning learning to wet felt with Virginia and I was amazed that at the end of it I had an actual picture! Virginia was a very patient tutor who gave clear instructions and was happy to demo anything I was stuck on. She really inspired me to continue with this craft and her set of instructions and tips for where to go for materials/supplies has been invaluable. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone!

I have attended Virginia's wet felting class twice now as I enjoyed it so much first time round.

Thanks so much to Virginia for the extra effort she went to arrange a really excellent 50th birthday wet felting session for us four companions. It was such fun, and we were overwhelmed to come away with a completed project. The pace was good and everything we needed was provided. A great range of resources to choose from and a relaxed setting. Lovely hospitality and a great way to spend a Saturday morning. I've never done anything like this before, have no particular ability and came away with something I was secretly (well not now) proud of.
thanks again, I'll be back!

I attended this course a couple of weeks ago. Virginia was an excellent Tutor - she gave clear demos / explanations, and all materials required were provided. A relaxed atmosphere added to the mix and greatly helped my first introduction to the art of wet felting, and warm hospitality on top made this a thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile experience. I completed my picture, and came away with a lovely sense of achievement as well as a set of instructions which will be invaluable as I try another one at home. I heartily recommend this course to others who may be wanting a new avenue for their creativity.

I've completed the needle felting course and everything you need is provided including sewing machines, felt and wool. Virginia's instruction was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and was delighted with my picture of three blackface sheep on a Moor.
I've already booked for the wet felting course.
