About the Course
2 days of upholstery tuition in my professional upholstery workshop in Tarland. The class is suitable for all levels of experience, but please be realistic about what you will be able to achieve over 2 days. There will be a maximum of 4 students per class so you will get plenty of tuition time with me. I have been teaching upholstery for 7 years now & I am a member of the Guild of Traditional Upholsterers (the only one in Scotland) so am well placed to teach you both traditional & modern methods of upholstery.
I have a dedicated teaching space in my workshop (please be aware that it is upstairs) and you will have access to all of the tools, materials & equipment you should need to complete you own project. Each student will have their own workstation with an airline and pneumatic staple gun or hammer and tacks if you prefer to go down the traditional route.
You will need to bring along your own project to work on plus the fabric that you would like to use, I can advise you on suitability & quantities of fabrics needed once your place is confirmed. I will provide tea, coffee & biscuits, please bring your own lunch. Any materials used during the weekend will be charged separately at the end of the course
The cost of the course is £180 per person for the 2 days, that covers tuition and refreshments only, a deposit of 50% will be required to secure your place, with the balance payable 4 days before the start of the course. Places will be issued on a first come (and paid) basis.
NB: Please check availability with me directly before purchasing a craft courses voucher.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

Michelle is patient and knowledgeable. As the class only has 4 students she is able to give you a lot of time to help you with your project. I’ve come away completely confident to continue reupholstering the rest of my dining room chairs. Would definitely be interested in going again when I find a different project to reupholster.
Alison Spice - - #22800
Response from Kenyon-Roberts Upholstery:Thank you so much Alison. I really hope you find another project so that you get to come back for more.
A brilliant introduction to upholstery - Michelle is a fantastic teacher who makes learning a pleasure. She gives plenty of individual tuition, is amazingly patient and creates a lovely atmosphere for her students. Classes are small and students bring their own projects so not only do you learn techniques for your own piece but you learn from the work of others. I would highly recommend classes with Michelle - I have already booked my next weekend !
Annie Corcoran - - #22766

Michelle is a great upholstery teacher. She has excellent skills and knowledge and is a member of the guild of traditional upholsterers. I can highly recommend Michelle’s classes. They are fun (whether or not you are a beginner); You will learn lots of new skills and techniques and you can look forward to creating your own beautiful results.
