Fabulous potting course. In 10 years I have never been able to master throwing, but believe the tips Jo has given me will mean I have conquered the basics at last. The location is beautiful and the food AMAZING. Thanks Jo and Sophie x

I had a wonderful time developing my throwing, turning and handle pulling skills here at Angels Farm. Jo is an experienced potter who is able to guide anyone in the different ceramics techniques through gentle and patient support and at different levels. The whole weekend was one of relaxation and peace in this most idyllic farm garden surrounded by an abundance of scented flowers. The bed and breakfast is clean, comfortable and offers rest and calm. The delicious breakfast and the scrumptious lunch was punctuated by freshly brewed tea and coffee and home baked cakes and biscuits throughout the day. Jo and her team made everyone feel relaxed and welcome. A real slow down from the outside world but an energising pottery experience. I have already booked myself in on another weekend treat in near future. Thank you. Lene

My husband and I had a wonderful day with Jo. Beautiful setting, excellent and knowledgeable instruction, delicious homemade food. Over all a really relaxing and fun day. Jo is patient and kind, making it a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We were really pleased with how our pots turned out and looking forward to picking them up after the final firing.

What a lovely time we had - we stayed in Jo's beautiful cottage as B & B guests and were waited on by her lovely family. We relaxed and enjoyed her garden and the Yurt, but best of all we spent the whole day in the Potting Shed (hardly a shed - a perfectly proportioned classroom!). Jo is a very quiet tutor but with wonderful experience, she answered any questions we threw at her and encouraged us with our throwing, helping us hands on if our pots didn't quite go the way we'd planned! Jo demonstrated different techniques and let us 'go our own way' if we wanted to. It was a perfect way to 'wind down' and relax (oh and get very very messy - well that was me anyway) . Booking the course was easy and paying simple too. I'm hoping to return in the not too distant future. If it was closer I'd be there every week.

A delightful day learning a lot about throwing a pot, thumb pots and the complexities of working with Clay. Our instructor obviously knows her stuff and helped keep the day productive and interesting. coming away with the desire to do more speaks for its self. Not only was the potting fun but the tea breaks and lunch were scrumptious. Highly recommend

Having spent many years being interested in studio potters' work but never before tried it myself, I found the 2 day course incredibly interesting and absorbing. Jo's teaching was brilliant - calm and well balanced, providing help when needed but letting us work at our own pace, and we all managed to produce at least half a dozen pieces that we were really pleased with. We covered throwing on the wheel, hand/coil building, turning, slab building and various decorating/glazing techniques. The biscuits and lunches were delicious! The studio has masses of inspirational pots by Jo and her students and it is a lovely environment. I came away with my head full of potential projects for another day and could not have had a better teacher or a more enjoyable weekend.

My wife and I went on the residential weekend, we are complete beginners with no experience at all. We absolutely loved it! Saturday morning after a lovely cooked breakfast we went into the pottery and within 10 minutes we were all our own wheels throwing clay!! After a 3 course lunch we did coiling, although you could carry on throwing if you wanted.

Sunday morning we turned our pots that had spent the night drying, and after another gorgeous lunch, we decorated and glazed our items. Jo will fire them and post the finished articles back to us. Assuming they survive the kiln we have 9 pieces each which we are amazed at!

Jo and her family are really warm and friendly and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the second we begrudgingly left! The food is amazing and you are kept topped up with tea, coffee, home made biscuits and home made cakes.

We had a great time and cannot recommend highly enough.
