The last two years have been very strange - so why throw traditions to one side and end 2021 with a unique CHRISTMAS DAY or NEW YEAR'S EVE by coming on a special edition of our One Day Hare Sculpture Workshop.
£25 of each ticket price will be donated to the wonderful Macmillan nurses charity.
Limited to just 6 people on each workshop, the day will run 9.15 - 4.30 with a light festive lunch buffet and ending the day with a proper glass of Champagne (soft drinks will also be available).
You will make a Medium sized hare which is twice the size of our normal one day hare workshop. Your hare will stand about 50cm tall and, on this very special day, you can choose to line the inside of their ears in gold lacquer paint.
Your hare could be moon gazing, looking back, ear scratching etc - the pose will be yours to easily create. Jo will be guiding you through every step to ensure you leave this unique day with a special hare, so absolutely no previous crafting experience is necessary.
We start with a steel stand and aluminium wire armature which has been pre-made for you (although later in the day we will make an armature together so you can understand the technique). You will move features of the armature to your own personalised ‘pose’, making every sculpture completely unique. At this stage you can also place a personal message into the heart of your hare (poignant for moon gazing hares), or you can include a lock of hair etc. Layers of plaster are then added, with a final coat of weather resistant colour and ‘kiss’ of gilding cream to bring your sculpture to life (the magic moment!).
Jo Garden Art's rural workshop is modern, spacious and bright, set in beautiful quiet countryside just outside the village of Hepworth on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. It's within easy reach of Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge for those of you having a break in the area. The Jo Garden Art sculpture kits to make at home or for gifts will be available to take away at discounted prices.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All materials are included for your sculpture.
Aprons are provided.
Each student has access to their own set of tools (so no waiting for others to finish!)
Tea, coffee, water and snacks are available throughout the day.
A festive buffet lunch will be provided - please ensure you communicate any dietary requirements well in advance. A glass of Champagne (or soft drink) will close the day.
1 day (9:15am to 4:30pm)
