A one day course learning the fundamentals of sharpening green woodworking tools.
Spend the day learning a number of techniques using various sharpening equipment for green woodworking tools such as, axes, billhooks and slashers in the lovely surroundings of Lower Moor Farm nature reserve.
We will cover: what you need to look for when buying tools, types of steel, bevel types, grind types, customising a new tool, maintenance and damage prevention. Including demonstrations by bushcraft expert Steve Corbyn, showing you how to sharpen both convex and flat grind tools.
You will need to wear suitable clothing and footwear for working outdoors. Steel toe cap boots would be advantageous if you have them.
