Description
In this three hour workshop you will learn all the skills required to gain confidence and apply the skills to produce a long stem vase. You will use your hand as well as wooden throwing tools. You will learn how to create height in cylinders, angling them in towards the top of the body making it smaller at the top, which can be tricky and technically hard. Once you have achieved the correct shape and are happy with what you have produced, it will be time to get the paint brushes out to decorate your vase with underglaze colour. This is your final step in getting creative. Post lesson the vase will be dried out in our studio before going through a double firing process. The first firing process is the biscuit firing to 1000oc before being glazed with a food safe, lead-free glaze and fired again to 1120oc. Your vase will be ready to collect in approximately 2-3 weeks after your lesson.
