This is the perfect pottery course for people who have always wanted to try their hand at making pots on the potter's wheel.
There are only eight places per pottery class meaning Dave has time to tutor each individual. It doesn't matter how much potting experience you have - total beginner or happy hobby potter by the end of the day you will have made all sorts of pots, and we hope you will have got the hang of throwing a pot on the wheel.
Pottery tuition begins at 9 (after a hearty breakfast for residential potters) and we tend to work until 1 pm when we stop for a delicious homemade two-course lunch.
A seasonal and exceptional two course meal is served in the atmospheric gallery, or in the courtyard over looking Rosie the Gypsy wagon and the woodland garden on sunny days. Back to the studio at 2 to 4, when tuition ends.
It's a mucky business so make sure you don't come in your best clothes!
Why not take the opportunity to make a weekend of it and stay in our fantastic accommodation.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Tea and cake in the morning, delicious 2 course lunch and three of your pots fired twice and glazed ready for your collection. Or you can pay extra to have them sent to you.

Went along as a complete novice. Dave is a good, patient teacher and by lunch time I was starting to 'feel' the clay. Lovely elevenses cake, delicious home made lunch. I couldn't decide which of the many (I made about 20 pieces in the end) pots I wanted to keep... 3 comes in the price so ended up paying for a few more! There were only 7 of us so we all got lots of personal attention. Totally recommend and I will be doing again!
