About the Course
Throwing courses will take you through the full process from clay preparation, throwing techniques and decorating. Courses offer a unique opportunity for you to learn in a very small group in the inspirational setting of Waters Edge, right on the foreshore of Penpol Creek.
Number of places: Minimum 2, maximum 4
The courses are taught by Jacqueline Clark, a highly experienced maker and teacher. She runs half day tasters, full day and 3 day (residential if required) throwing courses throughout the year for adults who wish to learn the basics, improve or acquire new skills. Waters Edge Studio is Jacqueline’s creekside creative space.
Jacqueline is a member of Cornwall Crafts Association and she is a Learning and Participation Officer at Leach Pottery in St Ives.
Her work captures the colours and textures of the rural and tidal landscape of Devoran and Penpol Creeks. She also makes raku fired pieces which bring to life reflections of an industrial past with smoke cracked glazes shimmering with metallic richness.
