Introduction to pottery techniques
This one day course will take you through three popular pottery techniques; coiling, slab building and pot throwing. During the day you will make several pots, for example either a coiled fairy house, bowl or planter, then a slabbed vase or tealight holder plus, finally, you will throw a pot on one of our potter’s wheels. If time permits you could also have a go at pinching a set of dishes or making a delightful little bird! All pieces made during the day will be dried, fired then available for collection approx. two weeks later. Anyone wishing to glaze their work may book and join any drop-in session at the studio (£15 per session). There will be a short break for lunch so please bring a packed lunch and drinks. There is an onsite cafe for drinks and snacks or local shops nearby. This workshop is suitable for beginners, no previous experience necessary. Please wear old clothes, bring your own mask, apron and towel. Covid-19 policies can be provided upon request.
What's included in the price?
All materials and first firing (please note there may be additional costs if your items are large!). Some parking available onsite (additional parking at bottom of hill in Regent Circus or top of hill near Moose Hall).
