Flower Mandala Art Workshop

Flower Mandala Art
X

Description

Make Space workshops for 2021 are in person relaxed classes to help you rediscover the simple joys of creative play. Reconnect to nature and find peace and balance in a Flower Mandala Art workshop, suitable for all abilities.

Bringing the Make Space ethos of mindful creativity to this beautiful serene space, you will be making a mandala to keep from flowers and leaves. Starting off by applying handmade ink which I've made from foraged and locally sourced flowers, plants and vegetables on large pieces of recycled heavyweight paper, you will then take time to design our own mandala with a selection of pressed flowers, which we will glue gently to the paper once the design is decided so you have a beautiful, meaningful and personal piece of artwork to take home.

Once you are all settled down with a complimentary drink, we will have a look at some mandalas and think about what symbolism different colours have, whether personally or according to philosophy. There will be lots of opportunity to try the natural inks on scrap paper before you decide which ones call to you, then there will be a large array of flowers and leaves which you can arrange on your dyed papers until you come to a pleasing design. You will be free to use petals or whole flowers, to cut and snip as you feel right. I'll have some books and source material to inspire; you're welcome to bring any imagery you would like to work with too.

Each artist will have their own sanitised scissors and brush for personal use only, you’ll all have your own socially distanced work space and will wear masks when moving around- the room is very well ventilated so every care will be taken to ensure our safety.

The workshop takes place from 10:00-12:00. Simply reserve a space, and I will post you a workshop ticket with details and directions

Give yourself the gift of relaxing and finding flow; spend some meditative and energised time with a very small group of people using nature as a tool to unlock the innate playful creativity humans are born with. With space to explore new materials you can rediscover the beauty and joy in the tiniest leaf.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
