Whether you are new to spinning or progressing to preparing a raw fleece to spin this half day will help you through the process. We will look at raw fleeces to discuss the different properties and discuss washing, micron counts, crimp, staples and so much more. You will learn how to prepare the fibres by hand carding and combing to gain an understanding of how to prepare for both woollen and worsted spinning so you feel confident to tackle that fleece at home for a range of projects. You will receive a full checklist to take home to use when choosing a fleece in the future. This will be a hands on day so don't come well dressed!

At The Spinning Barn we regularly hold hand spinning workshops for beginners or improvers. Details can be found in a separate listing or on our website. You may of course just email or telephone to discuss any preparation or spinning workshops which arre all tailored to your needs.

Workshops can be held for individual or group tuition with a maximum of three students to ensure lots of 1:1 tuition and can be arranged for either week days or weekend days. The day is very relaxed and informal. Why not take a look at our recent reviews to see what other customers have said about us.

Theresa is a qualified trainer and assessor in the Life Long Learning sector but far more importantly gets tremendous satisfaction from simply passing on these skills to others.

We look forward to welcoming you to our farm very soon.
