Drawing and Painting with Enamels (Full day – 6 hours)
A full day workshop exploring the exciting technique of using artistic techniques such as pencil sketching, watercolour painting, pastel chalks and under-glaze pencils to add a design to your enamel on copper. the designs are drawn or painted onto a prepared enamelled copper shape and then fired.
During the full day course, you will be guided through the process to enable you to make your own simple design on a pendant or panel which you can mount as a picture.
We will explore more advanced enamelling skills, so some basic enamelling techniques will be expected so it is advisable that you have attended one of the basic enamelling taster sessions first but not essential.
On this full day course, you will learn to:
• Cover health and safety and the kiln firing process
• Prepare the copper prior to enamelling
• Develop simple designs for you to draw/paint and understand the principles of this technique
• Explore the use of the different mediums used to apply a design to the enamel.
